With the 75th pick, the New England Patriots select...

    Martin Nance, WR, Miami Ohio
    6'4", 215, Senior

Big, physical receiver and solid route runner. He's been very productive, especially when receiving from Rothlisberger in 2004. He's not the fastest receiver, and may wind up as a slot possession receiver, but the Pats will take what they can get. Nance could see action early and maybe even as #2 behind Branch is Caldwell doesn't step up.

With the 76th pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select...

    Rod Wright, DT, Texas
    6'5" - 300 lbs - Senior

Defensive line is a key area of need for the Eagles, who slumped into mediocrity last season. They addressed their end position by signing Darren Howard to a big deal, and now need to add some additional help along the interior. Rodrique Wright has the talent of a first rounder, but lacks motivation and work ethic. Jim Johnson should be able to fix any problems he has, and make him into a real player at the professional level.

With the 77th pick, the St. Louis Rams select...

    Chris Chester, C/OG, Oklahoma
    6'3, 303 lbs.
Chester's stock has risen significantly due to his stellar performance at the combine. He battled injuries as a Senior, but has experience at both center and guard. With both Adam Timmerman and Andy McCollum winding down their careers, Chester could be a valuable back-up and near-future starter.

With the 78th pick, the Cleveland Browns select...

    Mark Anderson, DE/OLB, Alabama
    6'4", 255, Senior

With Anderson, the Browns may have found a younger McGinist. If Anderson can go from a hand down End to a 3-4 hybrid, he could find some success either after McGinist or opposite McGinist.

With the 79th pick, the Atlanta Falcons select...

    Maurice Drew, RB, UCLA
    5'8" - 205 lbs - Junior

The Falcons have been looking at Drew for a while now, and certainly need to improve the young talent in their offensive backfield. Drew is a player in a similar mold to Warrick Dunn, and should have grown enough as a professional to take over for Dunn when Warrick hangs up the cleats.

With the 80th pick, the Dallas Cowboys select...

    Devin Hester, CB/PR, Miami (FL)
    5'11, 185 lbs.
Let's face it - Jerry Jones likes flamboyant players. Hester fits the bill. Though unlikely to contribute much on defense, Hester will be a dangerous return man and could be used on occasion on offense.

With the 81st pick, the Chargers select...

    Devin Aromashodu, WR, Auburn
    6'2", 200, Senior

Probably a bit of a reach, but Aromashodu fits a very specific need for the Chargers. They have no deep threat, and deep threat is exactly what DA excels at. He won't be overly effective at short routes, but he will get down the field if Rivers wants to air it out, and should open up McCardell, Parker, and Gates underneath.

With the 82nd pick, the Miami Dolphins select...

    Roman Harper, FS, Alabama
    6'0" - 195 lbs - Senior

The Dolphins improved their secondary in the first round by selecting a cornerback, but they have big needs at safety that also need to be addressed. Harper, whom former LSU coach Nick Saban is likely very familiar, is a solid third round safety who has the skill set to play either position, but will probably find a home at free safety in the Miami defense.

With the 83rd pick, the Minnesota Vikings select:

    David Thomas, TE, Texas
    6'3, 245 lbs.
Thomas doesn't have great size or overwhelming speed, but he knows how to play the game. Quite a first day for the Longhorns.

With the 84th pick, the SF niners select...

    Stanley McClover, DE/OLB, Auburn
    6'2", 252, Junior

With McClover, the niners have found a poor man's Peterson (who they just lost to a division rival). McClover is a very athletic and fast DE who should be able to move to a 3-4 LB pass rushing specialist. He's young and raw, but with a little coaching could be Peterson's replacement at best, a situational pass rusher at worst.

With the 85th pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select...

    Dee Webb, CB, Florida
    5'11" - 180 lbs - Junior

The Chiefs were wise to address defense in the first round, and will continue to do so in the third round. Webb has all the tools you look for in a top cornerback, and would be a very good value pick to improve an aging and questionable secondary.

With the 86th pick, the New England Patriots select...

    Jerious Norwood, RB, Mississippi State
    5'11, 210 lbs.
With Corey Dillan and Kevin Faulk both starting the year as 30somethings, the Pats need an infusion of youth in their RB corps. Norwood probably is not the every-down-back of the future, but he has good speed and should be able to contribute.

With the 87th pick, the New York Giants select...

    Dominique Byrd, TE, USC
    6'4", 255, Senior

With Shockey on board, this is obviously a BPA pick. An explosive wideout would be nice, but watching a top-tier TE like Byrd fall into their lap is too good to pass up. Coughlin will find a way to get this solid receiver on the field. While not the greatest blocker, Byrd has the receiving skills of any wideout on the board.

With the 88th pick, the Chicago Bears select...

    Anthony Smith, FS, Syracuse
    5'11" - 192 lbs - Senior

The Bears were embarassed through the air in the playoffs last year, and started their upgrade by selecting Cedric Griffin in the second round. They'll continue adding talent by taking Smith here, who could compete for playing time immediately at free safety, but should at worst make an impact on special teams.

With the 89th pick, the Carolina Panthers select:

    Babatunde Oshinowo, DT, Stanford
    6'1, 304 lbs.
With Kris Jenkins' trouble staying healthy, Oshinowo is a good insurance policy.
