Locker Staying in School
Just heard on ESPN that Locker will not enter the NFL Draft.
Personally I'm not too devastated by this (Suh all the way), though it does weaken the top of the QB class, therefore reducing our chances to grab a quality QB in the second.

Confirmed:
Locker to return for senior season
Associated Press
Monday, December 14, 2009
SEATTLE -- Jake Locker says he will not make himself available for the NFL draft and will return to Washington for his senior season.
Locker released a statement through the university on Monday. Locker says he gave the idea of leaving after his junior season careful thought.
But he says he is excited about the team's potential for next season.
Locker is coming off a junior season during which he threw for 2,800 yards in his first year under the watch of coach Steve Sarkisian. Draft pundits have said Locker would be a high first-round pick if he left after his junior season, but Locker wants one more shot at reaching a bowl game after the Huskies went 5-7 this year.

Re: Locker Staying in School
I like Locker over Clausen, but I want the Rams to pick Suh. I see improvement ahead next year, but I will not expect playoffs and the choices of QB's might be better.

Re: Locker Staying in School
Hmm that's gonna hurt us a little bit. One less QB to go after in the draft.
I still think Pike will be our guy in round two...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Re: Locker Staying in School
Even if we weren't going to get a QB 1 overall this changes the whole draft. Claussen and Bradford are the only legit 1 rounders. This may force the Rams to trade up for a guy like Colt McCoy who may have otherwise fallen to the top of the second. All in all this QB draft isn't really good. With the Rams picking first most likely and without a dramatic push by Bradford or Claussen I would say Suh is a lock

Re: Locker Staying in School
Does anyone really believe still that Locker was going in the top 5? Seriously? Guys are supposedly jumping to come out and avoid the potential of a strict rookie cap yet he's forgoing all that cash to possibly play in a bowl game?

Re: Locker Staying in School
There were plenty of people who felt Locker was a top pick in this class. McShay made Locker his first overall pick of his mock draft prior to Locker's decision, and had to scramble to edit it afterwards. Quoting Scott Wright from his own forum on Draft Countdown: "Based on the people I've spoken to it was a virtual certainty that Jake Locker would have been the first quarterback selected in this draft. I don't think he would have gotten past both the Rams and Browns, which means Top 3 overall." Those are just a few. I understand you are not a Locker fan, but I'd say there's certainly more indication that he was going to be a top pick than suggested otherwise.

Re: Locker Staying in School
Personally, I wouldn't quote McShay.
Seriously, he is top 3 in what is probably the last of the great rookie contract drafts and he's going back to college to see if he can play in a bowl game? It's not like Tebow or Bradford going back to win a national championship, he thinks they can make A bowl game.
I wouldn't want a QB that stupid.
