Lofa Tatupu?
" After Seahawks asked LB Lofa Tatupu to take a paycut, he asked them to release him. The team now plans to do so, albeit reluctantly. " - Adam Schefter.
Should we try and move him to the weakside? Before his injury he was a terrific player and didn't have a bad year last year. I wouldn't mind stealing him.

Re: Lofa Tatupu?
He is a talented player. Whether the Rams make a play for him is another matter entirely.? It's the money he may want, that spoils it for the Rams. I do not like the fact it would be another player coming off an injury. But, he would be a massive upgrade to our LB unit and brings a lot of passion and leadership to the team.

Re: Lofa Tatupu?
He has been an excellent player and it would be nice to steal him from a division rival. It would certainly add more depth to the LB corps.

Re: Lofa Tatupu?
Physically he's a shell of his former self. He never had speed or strength, but has amazing instincts and his leadership is second to none...but...I can tell you emphatically that he has very little left in the tank from a physical skills standpoint and he is an injury waiting to happen. He's be better depth than starting material.

Re: Lofa Tatupu?
David Hawthorne will move to middle linebacker and be a threat for 140-150 tackles. Hawthorne is a better player than Tatupu at this stage -- especially in run defense -- and the Seahawks weren't going to pay their longtime Mike 'backer over $4 million after double knee surgery in January. Tatupu is a big name, but he's losing game quickly. The 29-year-old may have to settle for a one-season pact elsewhere without much guaranteed money. Jul 31, 2:10 PM

Re: Lofa Tatupu?
I would much rather have David Hawthorne than Tatupu. Hawthorne will be solid in the middle for the Hawks. Tatupu, although he was once a good player, isn't much more than a veteran presence and depth at this point in his career.

Re: Lofa Tatupu?
He's no longer the player he once was, but because of his name is going to get interest from fans on the market. The Rams have their Will linebacker for 2011 in Diles; there's no need to add a guy on the decline.
