Re: Looking back, how would you rate last year’s draft?
At the time I thought we have a very good draft, now I’m not so sure. TE’s have not produced, neither can block. Wasted a fifth on a guy that can’t return kicks and we have looked everywhere and have tried everyone.
Hill was a good first and Mark Setterstrom was a good seventh. Klop I’m just not sure why he has not been used more in the passing game. Victor Adeyanju plays well against the run, but cant pass rush; we still need a pass rushing DE. Jon Alston missed a lot of time in the preseason due to school, but he still has not played, I have to ask why?

Breaking it down pick by pick...
Overall, I'd probably lean towards a mid to low C. Hill, Klop, and Adeyanju have been the only rookies to really make any sort of regular contributions on this team. Wroten is getting a very minimal piece of the pie, Setterstrom has seen minimal action, whereas Alston, Byrd, Hagans, McGarigle, and Palmer have really brought nothing to the table for us thus far.ROUND ONE
TYE HILL, CB, CLEMSON
Stats: 33 tackles, 3 INTs
Notes: Hill has been inserted into the starting line-up due to injury, moving him up from his nickel position. He's responded fairly well, and despite some rookie missteps, looks like he's going to be a player.
Grade: B+
ROUND TWO
JOE KLOPFENSTEIN, TE, COLORADO
Stats: 15 rec, 191 yards, 1 TD
Notes: Klop has been used sparingly in Linehan's offense, but when called upon as a pass catcher, he has delivered. Joe however needs improvement as an in-line blocker.
Grade: C+
ROUND THREE
CLAUDE WROTEN, DT, LSU
Stats: 9 tackles
Notes: Has only seen action in seven games. Has shown flashes of ability when on the field, and is seeing time at defensive end due to lack of depth there. Hasn't had a huge impact though.
Grade: C
JON ALSTON, OLB/SS, STANFORD
Stats: None
Notes: After missing a significant portion of offseason activities, Alston hasn't played a single game for the Rams this year. How can this be anything but a disappointment?
Grade: D
DOMINIQUE BYRD, TE, USC
Stats: None
Notes: Byrd has yet to beat out Aaron Walker as the #2 tight end this year, and has been inactive for nine games this season. Recently was in trouble with the law for a bar encounter.
Grade: F
ROUND FOUR
VICTOR ADEYANJU, DE, INDIANA
Stats: 34 tackles, 1 sack, 1 defensive touchdown
Notes: Forced into the line-up after Anthony Hargrove pulled a David Blaine with his disappearing act. Has played admirably for a rookie but needs to improve as a pass rusher.
Grade: B-
ROUND FIVE
MARQUES HAGANS, WR, VIRGINIA
Stats: None
Notes: After being unable to win a return job in camp and preseason, Hagans was cut and added to the practice squad.
Grade: D-
ROUND SEVEN
TIM MCGARIGLE, ILB, NORTHWESTERN
Stats: None
Notes: Tim couldn't beat out Jamal Brooks for the back-up MLB spot, was cut, and then signed to the practice squad.
Grade: D-
MARK SETTERSTROM, G, MINNESOTA
Stats: N/A
Notes: Setterstrom worked his way onto the field due to injury and played well. He should continue to see time in the rotation, especially if Goldberg has to give an injured Barron a break.
Grade: C
TONY PALMER, G, MISSOURI
Stats: N/A
Notes: Released from the team and claimed off waivers by the Packers.
Grade: F
Country Roads, Take Them To St. Louis!

Nice job Nick, looking forward to you breaking it down on the off season.

Right now I would say a C- but these things really take 3-4 years before you know for sure. The grade could go down or up in that time.
