Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
Mannigham has signed with San Francisco on a two year deal per Jason La Canfora on Twitter.

What do you want the Rams to do now?
The market is bone dry as far as talent is concerned. Personally I'm turning my attention to the draft and what it will take to either get Blackmon or to trade back up for Floyd/Hill.

Thats 2 FA's gone to division rivals..... :frown:

Jim Thomas confirms:

Former Gaints WR Mario Manningham agrees to terms with San Francisco after visit to St. Louis.
Packing our two second rounders together gives us the potential to get up as high as pick #15 if we were looking strictly at the trade value chart. Would you try to move up this high to get ahold of Floyd?
Re: Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
Justin Blackmon here we come!... I hope....
Re: Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
Not happy at all. Given, we have made nice signings thus far, but we needed manningham. He would have been a significant upgrade over what we already have and would've made it only 1 more starting WR. Now we HAVE to invest two more top draft picks on receievers because who really feels confident with Alexander or Gibson on the outside?
Disappointing...
How do we let this happen? I just hope the FO has a trick up their sleeves and we somehow acquire Mike Wallace or a capable starting WR via trade to pair with a rookie.
Offseason has been great thus far, but this one hurts me.
Re: Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
I'm not all that concerned about this one. Sure, Manningham would have been a nice additional as a No. 2 WR, but I'm guessing he wanted No. 1 money, or close to it.
Our best bet may be taking Blackmon (assuming he's there at #6) and then grabbing a second WR (Tommy Streeter, Nick Toon) in Round 3.

Bingo - I reckon San Fran broke the bank after they lost out on Lloyd. Looking forward to seeing how much they overpaid.
Re: Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
I definitely think that the FO needs to take a good look at taking two wide recievers once again, but this time a little bit earlier in the draft. Either blackmon and a second round reciever, or if Blackmon and Claiborne arent there at 6, we could trade back, take Floyd or Wright then we will have an extra pick or two to go after a 2nd tier guy that we like a lot. Their will be a lot of options in the 2nd and third rounds; Stephen Hill could fall right to us at the top of the second, Streeter, Rueben Randle, are all guys with tons of potential and at a minimum could go out and be a vertical threat in their rookie year.
Re: Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
I dont want back to back drafts where we spend too many picks on WRs. we should get blackmon then try to fill other needs
Re: Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
If Rams don't bring in a Free agent WR before draft:disapointed: .
If Blackmon gone.
I hope they trade down a couple of times for more picks. I would offer Dolphins #6 for #8 ,2nd and third or both 3rds. Take WR Floyd with 8th. Three 3rd round picks could land another WR maybe Rueben randle, Tommy streeter, or A.J. Jenkins all with potentail.
Move from 8 to 15 and get one of Eagles 2nds, 4th and 6th and maybe 3rd next year. All extra Eagle picks this year.
Sorry about Rant. Just fed up, not getting WR in free agency.

With how much we're spending on Bradford, receiver is a huge need.

Better to spend millions of dollars of cap space on second-tier WR?
Re: Manningham signs with San Fran - what do we do now?
Like AV said, the path we should go now is that of a top tier WR in Round 1 (Blackmon, Floyd), and grabbing another WR later.

It is 1 of many needs. WR wont help our Run D get any better.

Im saying we should get blackmon and a WR late round but i dont want the majority of our top picks going to the offensive side like last years draft. We can draft another Playmaking WR in the 1st round next year. This rebuild isnt going to happen overnight..

Well if the Rams offence can stay on the field for longer than three downs (which a WR would help us do) then I would think our run D would actually be better. Well rested dlinemen make for a stouter front seven.
