Manti Te'o Girlfriend Story is Apparently a Hoax: By or On Te'o is the Question

I knew someone that was a lying jerk on this level, I believe the report before I believe this player. I have seen this identical pattern of behavior before. Welcome to the new face of evil.

So big man on campus, not to mention Heisman runner-up, with women at his feet willing to do whatever he pleases...and he has an "intimate" and "deep" relationship with a girl he meets on-line who he claims he has never met before (which contradicts his earlier statements of meeting her)?



Manti Te'o wasn't missing tackles against Alabama. He was just hugging his girlfriend.

Now him being naieve due to him being a mormon gets thrown in or him being gay and covering that up. There is so much BS around this story atm even the best case scenario will have unrepaireble damage. But for now let's see what he has to say in the end that's what counts. After that it's the question if scouts/teams value that explaination or want to take a risk. In the end we as Rams fans have seen the good and the bad of taking those kinds of risks.

In the entire world, there is no worse crime than using the internet to impersonate someone.

It is a crime that destroys reputations, shatters lives, and threatens to unwind the very fabric of our society.

Some might think that a hoax like this is funny, but those people simply have no soul. They are evil, and should never be condoned by civilized human beings.

even sleeping on it i still don't understand the lengths they would go to to make te'o an inspirational story

Guys, I would be cautious about passing judgement at this point. We don't know the story yet. And if it turns out he was the victim in this, some people around here are going to look like real pieces of fecal matter.

Maybe he did it. Maybe he didn't. But there's no bonus points for rushing to opine.

Just out of curiosity, in the event Manti is proven to have complicity in this event, just how far would he fall in the draft. The guy was pretty much a top ten or fifteen 1st round pick until this story was aired? Round 2? Round 3 or more?

No-one knows exactly. We've never seen something like this. But I can tell you something else:

" NFL exec. this morning, "We'll draft criminals, but lie to my face and you're off our board." Some don't believe Te'o's story."

I'm kind of surprised but from what I have seen from NFL coaches and GMs on, ESPN, NFLN today, they don't think he will drop all that far if any. I know that sound crazy but thats what they have said. It early and no one really knows what he true story is yet.

One example was Reggie Bush. They interviewed him and felt he was lying about what happened at SC as far as the money ect. But in the end they felt he had no other issues and he could play, so they had him high on the board.

Im gonna wait till everything is known before passing judgement. I hope he just got played and just made up a few lies during "the relationship" to make it seem less lame that they never met during those years. Te'o seems like a good guy so we shall see.

But anyways, saw this and had to post cause i find it hilarious.

If I didn't know someone in my life who invented almost every fact of their life down to making up a wife that didn't exist using photos taken from other sites...I'd be less likely to see Te'o as the bad guy here. But I do, so I'm going to need solid proof that he isn't before I start believing it. Him saying "oh it was a hoax!" just seems very non-believable.

Edit: Well, I did know them, until I found out they were doing all that. Now I won't have anything to do with them.

I'm not passing judgement just yet, but this whole bizarre thing seems crazy. Basically invest your life and emotions in someone you've never met, on a twitter picture and some phone calls?? Not even a video chat?? And if it was a hoax, why would someone take it to the level it was taken? It went on for over 3 years, with photos, and apparently a female accomplice making the phone calls, and someone sending tweets, texts and e-mails to Te'o and his famiy?? And Te'o wasn't able to meet the love of his life for over 3 years?? Crazy.

This is now a huge media story being carried by everyone, and it's going to be interesting to see it all play out.
