    Marcus Mariota

These spread QBs are hard to rate.

Against Stanford, he sure didn't look like an NFL quality QB. When facing tight man coverage and a crowded pocket (every week in the NFL) he appeared exceptionally average.

    Re: Marcus Mariota

Never understood why people want these types of QBs. One year they're lighting up the NFL and now they're putting in mediocre production. If we're gonna draft these type of QBs, we better expect more rebuilding years since their pocket presence, ability to make reads, and sometimes accuracy is laughable at best. RG3 is the only exception but at some point he'll have to adjust as a pocket passer in order to have a lengthy career in the NFL.

RG3's stats are worse this year than Bradford's were this year.
As a pocket passer reading defenses, RG3 is below average.

Mariota is a tremendous athlete who can dominate when things are clicking, but he's not close to being ready for prime time at the next level.

They (the experts) said the same about a certain QB in San Francisco......you can never predict these things.

    Re: Marcus Mariota

might do well rookie season (though idk, don't feel like he will)

or at least do better his rookie season, then the nfl will catch on and really start to send him to the turf

they are supposedly the future of the nfl, but every time the nfl adapts and destroys and they have to "revert" to a pocket passer

JMHO but if you run the read option, you need 3 QBs who can do it. I've said that for a while and I think it holds up.

A team just needs to constantly refresh their stable of read option QBs to keep it full because they aren't surviving.
