    Margus Hunt

I like Hunt still, but I wasn't aware he was 26 year old already. To me that takes him out of any first round consideration, and maybe even top half round two.

Maybe, then again how would you explain Brandon Weeden. I know that some of the good QB's can stay in the league until thier late 30's but if the player has the talent do not be surprise if a team will ignore the age issues and grab him early.

    Re: Margus Hunt

Weeden is a QB, and it's a whole different ball game at that cerebral leadership position.

Hunt only has 4 years of football, and so he'll be 30 when he really is playing well.

I still like him, but I drop him half a round due to his age. Looking back at some other overaged non-QBs, I think mid round two would be very good for a 26 year old Estonian 3-4 DE.

I had him moved up due to his measurables, but the age thing just puts him a bit behind some other guys on my list. It may just be a drop from a 8.0 rating to 7.8, but that's enough to drop at least 16 spots.

I think the drafting of certain qb's so high reflects the sheer desperation at the position (ie the most important position on the field). Weeden is a good example (see also ponder and locker).

I agree that you can't compare the age of a QB to that of a DE/OLB.

That said, here's a fun fact...

Sam Bradford is 5 days younger than Colin Kaepernick.

    Re: Margus Hunt

With two of the best young DEs in football, I don't think Margus Hunt was ever ticketed for St. Louis anyway. So the concern over his age will never be a Ram issue.
