Matt Jones?
Man the rams need to snag this guy for WR or TE PERFECT te martz type offense IMO for the future at least. THe guys played qb at arkansa but is 6-6 250 and ran a 4.37 at the combine, fastest ever for a qb.

Re: Matt Jones?
A 4.37?!?!?!?! That's faster than any of the running backs!

Hang on a second. Just found this on nfl.com...

There were 13 of them, and 12 of them ran. The only one that didn't run was Arizona State's Andrew Walter, who was hurt. Also in that group was Matt Jones, a quarterback from Arkansas who is also trying out as a wide receiver. The consensus from our fivesome was that he ran probably the fastest time of any quarterback we've ever seen at the combine.
So what did he do? Jones ran a 4.41, a 4.44, a 4.47 and a 4.50. In case you were wondering, if 4.50 is your slowest time in the 40, you know you're doing something right."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Matt Jones?
These combine 40-times are unofficial I believe, but if he's running in the 4.4's then that's great for him.

Re: Matt Jones?
I don't doubt you brother. And to tell you the truth, we're talking about a 250 lb man...4.37, 4.47, or 4.57 any of them make him a viable candidate for TE, WR or 3rd string QB.

NFL Draft Countdown is reporting he ran a 4.37 on Sunday.

Re: Matt Jones?
If he can block I say we take him with the early pick in the 3rd round, if he's available. Could you imagine what Martz could do with a weapon like that?

Re: Matt Jones?
If this guy is that fast and that tall he could be the Randy Moss of cornerbacks.

Re: Matt Jones?
A 250 lb wideout that runs a 4.37....that's amazing. He moved up Martz' board that's for sure.

Re: Matt Jones?
Eric Dickerson used to clock at those speeds.

Re: Matt Jones?
...which was amazing for a 220 lb man, now add 30 pounds to that and we've got Matt Jones.

Re: Matt Jones?
The guy gets half a step on folks and he's gone. Big kid. Give him 15 more pounds and he's the TE playmaker the Rams have been looking for.
It'd be tough to pass him up.

Re: Matt Jones?
Also let's remember that the turf at the Combine is historically slower than the standard surface elsewhere. I.E. all of the times at the combine should be adjusted to reflect the slower turf, and therefore Matt may well have run a sub 4.4 time. As an Arkansas fan I also am very excited about his prospects; but keep in mind he has never had to block at any level of football and that includes High school. He will have a lot to learn as a NFL quality TE.
WHAT SAY YE?
