I would not take the chance on this one. Multiple arrests for Drugs, (Cocaine) I just think it would be wise to pass on him. WE should develope our young Wide Recievers. I just get a bad feeling about Matt Jones.
I would also pass.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug...
You've got to be kidding. Why would we waist our time with this guy?
On the field, yes
when coupled with off the field...... Absolutely not. No way.
Definitely not a waste of time...at his combine he ran a sub 4.4 forty at 6'4 240 pounds, and he was finally starting to produce this year. We need size at receiver and if he could come cheap it is a low to medium risk, very high to even higher reward situation.
Sure....why not? League minimum and speed to burn. I'll take him.
Isn't this the guy that came into the league as the WR/TE/QB? I think if he got his off the fields issues sorted, which is a mighty big if, he would be a very good player. I wouldn't mind if the Rams signed him, provided it was for a minimum salary.
I think the Dolphins could have quite a bit of interest in him, especially because of his added value in a Wildcat formation. He was a QB/WR hybrid coming out of College.
If we signed him, veteran minimum and some sort of clause wherein if he fails another test he's released and loses all signing incentives.
If Spags is going to bend one of his pillars it would be for someone that brings more to the table than Matt Jones... IMHO.
No interest at all.
This guy is like a walking replica of Drew Bennett. Tall, overhyped, and stone hands to boot. NO THANKS.
Well he is wayyyy more athletic and bigger than Bennet, and he is still developing as a receiver. Even though he is four years out of college (or is it five?) his upside is still tremendous. I'm not completely set on the Rams going after him, but I wouldn't mind it at all if we signed him.
(He's 6'6 not 6'4 as i said earlier, and he is down to 220 pounds which is still alot better than Bennet's 195)
