This may happen on Draft Day....
Chris Long is going to be the rams first round pick. They're sitting on the fence between Dorsey and Long for a manipulative tactic, they know the Falcons want Dorsey pretty bad. The Rams are going to play indecisive and use the consensus that just about every credible talking head believes the Rams will take Dorsey. The Falcons will offer the Rams their 3rd overall pick, their second round pick and next years first round pick. Just so they can garuntee Dorsey will be a Falcon come training Camp. For the Rams, they get the guy they've always wanted in Chris Long, another 2nd round pick, and two first round picks in 2009.
If the Falcons offer two of their 2nd round picks and swap the first. that would be good too.

If the Falcons offer us their first, second and next years first rounder for our first rounder this year, we win the trade hands down. I don't see that happening at all IMO, but i sure would love it!

stay away from the "bong" starfoxx......you gotta quit smokin' man, its messing with your head.
Falcons will not give you any 2nd rounder for the right to move up one spot. It WON'T happen! but if you want to stay in your "altered" state and believe its going to happen - go-for-it, man! have fun

It would be really nice. But you can do alot of stuff with a second round pick. It's not worth moving up one spot anyways. The Falcons are going to get Glenn Dorsey anyways.
Chris Long will fill a need, come cheaper, and will make an impact.

Knowing how badly the Falcons want Dorsey, The Rams can easily select Dorsey and ask the falcons for their 1st and one of their second round picks. Or the Falcons can just offer a second rounder and swap their first rounders. What's the difference? If the falcons want to guarantee Dorsey they have to cough up a 2nd rounder to move up, and the rams still get their guy Chris Long.
The Rams 2nd overall pick is worth 2600 points
The Falcons 3rd overall pick is worth 2200 points
The Falcons 2nd round picks are all in the 400s
The Rams are going to dangle Dorsey as trade bait, if we can get a second rounder or even more, I'll take it.

Not a chance on two first round picks or one first and two 2nd rd picks. Our first round pick is worth 2600 pts on the value chart, and the Falcons #3 overall is worth 2200 pts. They only need to offer one of their three 2nd rounders (their lowest most likely) to do the deal. As another poster mentioned in another thread, even a fourth rounder wouldn't be bad - IF -the guy the Rams really want is Chris Long ..

We don't have to make that easy. The Rams can stay on the fence and let all the talking heads tell the world that the Rams will draft Glenn Dorsey. We can bait the Falcons into securing their guy glenn dorsey by spending 1 of their 3 second rounders and swapping first rounders.

it would have to be multiple late rounders to swap first rounders.

Thats exactly what I think. I honestly think that Dorsey is just trade bait. Devaney has been impressed with our DT situation.
As many other posts point out, just because you have a great set of DT's, your pass rush may not be fully addressed, which we need. Our DT's improved our rush yards against. Which is a good sign. They were young too. We will probably end up getting them better.
We get a DE, like Chris Long, Leonard Little can teach him how to play DE in the NFL, and his hall of fame father can do the same.

starfoxx,
i know the draft chart......here's the thing. I know you and most of the other Rams fans want to pull a "draft coup" and of course if you could squeeze the Falcons that would make you happy.
Just be the Falcons GM for a minute........if you are the Falcons GM, you know that the Rams probably don't want to take Dorsey or maybe its 50/50 - you also know your own team - the Falcons - needs to come out of this draft with 6 new starters - are you giving up a potential starter/impact player in round 2 to move up one spot when its 50/50 the player you would move up one spot for will fall to you anyway?
its such common sense that the Falcons won't trade up - don't know why you can't see it - unless its just your bias showing.....try to be as objective as you can..

I can see you give the Falcons way to much credibility. The same falcons whose had pretty bad drafts in the past. And the chance flacons come out of the Draft with 6 starters is highly unlikely. You're forgetting how talented Glenn Dorsey is, the best defensive player in 2007, a man who said he is going to play his final year at LSU to bring a title home. And he did that. If anything he's worth more than just a 2nd round pick. Your GM can very well think were leaning more towards Dorsey. I'm sure if you took the time to look, you will see many reports of the falcons wanting to swap picks with the rams. Or do you normally debate will uninformed.
