McNabb to Redskins - How will this affect the draft?
Obviously, with the Redskins giving up their second round pick in the 2010 draft (as well as a third or fourth rounder in 2011), it limits the Skins ability to trade up for Sam Bradford as their QB of the future. I cant imagine the Rams doing a trade with Washington when the Rams arent going to receive an extra second rounder in this draft out of it.
That said, the Redskins now have a legitimate starter in McNabb, but still have a tender on the table for Jason Campbell, which they could recind rather than keep him in DC as a backup. If Campbell does become available, do the Rams look at him as another option at QB and maybe have Bradford sit for a year?
If anything i think this trade pretty much confirms that Bradford will be a Ram, as it was only a serious trade offer that would have changed that and i dont see that as being possible now, since Washington were the most likely trade partners. The Redskins will likely take a tackle like Russell Okung to protect McNabb, if he is available.

interesting, i also wonder what this means as far as jason campbell, the guy can play football and could probably be easily had at this point. behind a real o-line and some receivers with size who actually run routes, he could improve upon his best numbers which aren't bad to begin with.

Re: McNabb to Redskins - How will this affect the draft?
I was over at the Redskins forum, and the fans over there were not happy at all about the move. They are afraid he will get hurt early in the year, and cant believe they gave up what they did for him.

Re: McNabb to Redskins - How will this affect the draft?
Well I guess the whole Bradford/Clausen workouts don't mean much anymore.

The Redskins trading to #1 rumors are officially over!
The Redskins taking Clausen is officially not a possibility
However if taylor Mays falls the Eagles might trade up in the 2nd round with the rams to get him before the lions go on the clock

Re: McNabb to Redskins - How will this affect the draft?
We're not adding any more QB's to the roster besides Bradford. We have enough money tied up in the QB position.
All this does is nuke our efforts to shop the pick. Which means our front office was outmanuevered once again.

Yeah, It looks like if we take the rookie QB, we are going to pay "number 1 money" for him.

Re: McNabb to Redskins - How will this affect the draft?
The trade essentially removes the only trade partner that may have been willing to move up for Bradford. And perhaps the Redskins really weren't that willing to do so anyways, since they'd rather have McNabb at the expense of their 2010 second rounder and a pick next year.
Shower is right - the Rams may not have been that serious about shopping the pick. Maybe their asking price was through the roof, and the Redskins just weren't having any of it. McNabb for a second and a third next year probably makes more sense to Washington than Bradford for their first this year, first next year, and maybe more (pure speculation on my part to illustrate the point).
Ultimately, this could very well secure the Rams into the first overall pick. I didn't think the chances of a trade down were good to begin with, but now they're even worse. The Rams will likely stay put and take their player of choice.

What this does IMO is allows us to draft Suh #1, be in talks with tampa have them draft Bradford at #3 then swap the rights.

Re: McNabb to Redskins - How will this affect the draft?
well this move means we pretty much got Bradford..(which im cool with) but doesnt rule out a trade down..although i think the Lions will end up taking Okung the Bucs may get nervous about them taking Suh, so they may want to trade up to above the Lions to get him..they probably dont think that we will take Suh but with us being the only team picking ahead of the Lions they`ll still may have to trade upto our spot to get him..we go to the 3rd overall and pick Bradford knowing that the two teams picking above us have no intention of selecting him.

Re: McNabb to Redskins - How will this affect the draft?
Possible, but not likely. With it fairly evident the Rams want Bradford, and the Lions possibly going to take Okung, it puts the Bucs in a position to draft one of the top two DTs but without giving anything up for them. Even if the Rams were to take Suh to try and push Tampa into a trade, the Bucs could be happy to just take Eric Berry at #3 if the two DTs are gone since they need safety help
