McShay-Austin "might be quickest player I've ever studied
Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay tweeted that West Virginia WR Tavon Austin "might be the quickest human being I've ever studied on tape."
McShay's coworker Kevin Weidl responded with "not getting out of the first round." Austin is a joystick with the ball in his hands in the open field, but did have his set of struggles when facing Kenny Vaccaro in the slot. He is the type of playmaker teams look for in the first-round, despite his less than ideal size. Feb 12 - 12:24

Re: McShay-Austin "might be quickest player I've ever studied
His feet are super fast but he is a tweener --- plus he hasn't taken many licks.
He will be a good returner obviously, but I seriously doubt he is taken in the first round.
Remember Dante Hall Rams fans....he couldn't get involved in the passing game on turf....
this is a similar situation -- plus there are lots of slot recievers in Free Agency.
I see him going Round 2 later.....possibly slipping to Round 3.....

Speed and quickness is coveted in any sport! I just didnt know the guy was a midget lol. I seen a highlight of him were he made 1 defender miss tackler him 2 times in 3 seconds. WOW is all i can say but he's like 5ft 2... Dont know how he can be a reciever... Well actually i do. If he's in the slot the ball will always be thrown low, how can u defend that? If nothing else he will be an electrifing returner.

I like Austin (For a team like Philidelphia, or Atlanta) but he isn't a great fit here. Most of the big plays that Austin has are from the backfield anyways.. He is a special weapon though. He is very dangerous coming out of the backfield or lining up in the slot.

Tavon Austin combines Percy Harvin's talent with Dexter McCluster's size. Harvin went 22nd in 2009, McCluster 36th the year after. I expect Austin to be taken somewhere in that range. The best fit for him, but probably the worst team for me since I'm a fan of his and hate this team, might be New England as the replacement for Welker. That's probably where I'll project him going in my next mock.
