Re: Mel Kiper's 3/31/06 Mock Draft
Regarding the Rams' pick of Greenway, I think it's a bit of a reach still, but we are filling a need with the best available prospect at that position, so I don't really have a problem with it. Would just rather see us get better value, and I think I'd be more okay with it if we weren't passing up on Ngata in the process.

Mel has an encyclopedia for a head regarding stats and players coming out of college, but his draft predictions are mostly crap....and what's with that hair?

Re: Mel Kiper's 3/31/06 Mock Draft
I think the FIRST 10 of Kiper is DEAD on. I've said before that the Cardinals and Denny Green want the QB of the future and one would probably slide that far.
#11 is too early for Greenway.
Detroit doesn't want to spend a top-10 pick on a safety especially in their scheme; however, he's the best player available and they wouldn't get good value by taking someone like Justice (OT) so early.
Everyone knows I think we can pull off a deal with Detroit for Huff.
---------------------------
What concerned me was reports that Chad Greenway lacked lower body strength. Linebackers that have enjoyed GREAT college careers, but couldn't make the grade in the Pros are all too common.
We better be damn sure Greenway can stand up to NFL Guards, Tightends, and Fullbacks when they run right at him.
It sounds like he'll do fine in pursuit, but we don't need any more Linebackers that can't stand up to a pounding running game.

Re: Mel Kiper's 3/31/06 Mock Draft
Thats the thing though. Where were these guys on the field against weaker competition than what DeMeco faced? They were not as impressive as him. His combine wasnt too bad at all. A 4.65 in the 40 and 23 reps of 225 isnt bad.The pro days by Sims, Carpenter and others.
I just cant figure out how DeMeco Ryans went from top 10 pick to being selected after Ernie Sims. If that does happen, someone is getting a steal in the second round. The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

When was Demeco Ryans ever a top 10 pick?DeMeco Ryans went from top 10 pick"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

I agree. Thats RJ39 fo ya sometimes atleast. I've been a Iowa homer but have never said Greenway was a top 10 pick. I know he isn't that gooodl.
