Re: Mock Draft
If I knew Vernon Gholston would fall to 11, I'd be a fool to draft Chris Long at 2. Instead, the smart thing to do would be to trade down and pick up another 2nd rounder.

Re: Mock Draft
A very solid effort. I'll try to make some general comments on the whole thing...
I don't really see Rivers as a possibility for KC. He's not great value there and doesn't fill a huge need, so there's no real argument for taking him.5. KANSAS CITY CHEIFS - Keith Rivers LB, USC
I have a hard time envisioning the Jets and Pats both passing on Gholston.6. NEW YORK JETS - Matt Ryan QB, Boston College
7. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - Mike Jenkins CB, USF
Cincinnati may want to add another receiver, but I don't think Jackson is good value there. I don't think any receiver would be, frankly.9. CINCINNATI BENGALS - DeSean Jackson WR, Cal
Why? Hard for me to see the Panthers spending this pick on a receiver with guys like Clady and Harvey available.13. CAROLINA PANTHERS - James Hardy WR, Indiana
If he's there, great pick. Marinelli's defense could use a top pass rusher.15. DETROIT LIONS - Derrick Harvey DE, Florida
Eh, I don't think the Vikings are ready to give up on Jackson just yet. Not sure Brohm is good value here either.17. MINNESOTA VIKINGS - Brian Brohm QB, Louisville
Good selection; they've been looking for a LT for a long time.18. HOUSTON TEXANS - Chris Williams OT, Vanderbilt
Maybe, but they just signed Alge Crumpler to a two-year deal. Probably not a first round priority, and Keller isn't so good of value here to make them forgo that.24. TENNESSEE TITANS - Dustin Keller TE, Purdue
I take it you mean Jonathan Stewart.25. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - Jonathan Joseph RB, Oregon
I hate to say it, but that'd be a great pick for Seattle.
Not good value, and the Jags don't have great experience with first round receivers. They just signed Jerry Porter and traded for Troy Williamson. I see them going elsewhere with this pick.26. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - Early Doucet WR, LSU
Would he really fit in their 3-4 scheme?29. SAN FRANSICO ***** - Xavier Adibi OLB, Virgina Tech
I'd be blown away if he lasts this long.32. MIAMI DOLPHINS - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB, Tenn. St.
Oakland doesn't have a second round pick.36. OAKLAND RAIDERS - Limas Sweed WR, Texas
Why would the Chiefs take Rivers in round one and then take another LB in round two?37. KANSAS CITY CHEIFS - Ali Highsmith OLB, LSU
Another guy I don't see lasting this long. My last projection had him in the second round but he's gained a lot of momentum.56. TENNESSEE TITANS - Jerod Mayo, Tennessee

Re: Mock Draft
I see a trend here. Fans are picking everyone but Dorsey and a majority of people (outside of someone who I really respect Howard Balzer) in the media are picking Dorsey. I thought at least an LSU man would have Dorsey.

Re: Mock Draft
Here is what I notice:
I would expect Gholston to go higher.
I don't think linebacker is a big need for KC with Derrick Johnson, Donnie Edwards, and Napoleon Harris. Their defense was middle of the pack, but they were dead last in rushing yards, and second to last in points scored and total yards on offense. I think they'd take an offensive lineman or maybe Matt Ryan before reaching for a linebacker.
Between DeSean Jackson's pot suspension in college, prima donna image, and lightweight frame (our kicker Jeff Wilkins outweighs him by 30 lbs.!) James Hardy's domestic abuse arrest, Limas Sweed's wrist, and Malcolm Kelly's knees, I'm actually thinking Devin Thomas might be the first receiver taken.
Most of it looks good.

Re: Mock Draft
I might be a little harsh here , but this is a mess , and for 2 weeks of work. Sorry ! but i see guy's here that should be in the 4th 5th rd area , you have middle 2nd round guy's in the middle or top of round 1 . this is just really confusing that top players that could very well be gone by the 10th pick in the draft being picked in the second round or not even on the board . If i had to give a grade for this mock it would be an F- , but i will only give it an F for the fact that the RAMS walked away with C. LONG and S. BAKER .
And i totally agree with the WR fiasco going on. It seems they all have some kind of on field or off field issue's . I could really see a bunch of these guy's fall into later rounds . that would give us a chance to ride the RIPPLE EFFECT down a round or 2 and still pick up a receiver that should have been gone long ago .
