Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
Free Agency
Kendall Lanford
Cortland Finnegan
Scott Wells
Erin Henderson, OLB, Vikings - He is the younger brother of E.J and is up and coming. He's steadily improved, hes only 25, and will be hitting the prime of his career.
Tracy Porter, CB, Saints - Once again, another extremely young player at 25 entering his prime, Porter will solidify the back end of the Rams. He struggled this year, but has been a nice player.
Draft
1.6 Justin Blackmon, WR, OKST: The consensus #1 WR in the draft slips to the Rams here. We finally get some help at the position and a serious threat. This kid will turn into T.O Jr without the attitude.
2.33 Kendall Reyes, DT, Connecticut: The second DT added also solidifies the youngest defensive line in football. Two great DT's both with the name Kendall, and two forces on the outside could cause some serious trouble for opponents.
2.39 Kelechi Osemele, OG, Iowa State: An absolute mauler who will play beside Scott Wells and Rodger Saffold at LG, he and Dahl will absolutely demolish other DT's. Osemele also has versatility and can play T if needed.
3.66 Sean Spence, OLB, Miami: Spence is a terrific player that oozes potential. He will just continue the trend of great players to come from the U. Spence teamed up with Laurinaitis and Henderson will be solid.
4.96 Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State: Quick is developmental, but seeing our huge need at WR, Quick can start immediately. Quick is huge at 6'4, and has pretty good speed. I think with great coaching he and Blackmon will make a lethal duo.
6.162 Randy Bullock, K, Texas A&M: Josh Brown and his 3 million dollar salary can go on. He's missed way too many easy field goals to be paid like the best. Bullock is the best college kicker and will hopefully step right in and be clutch.
7.193 Cody Johnson, FB, Texas: We have no FB's on the roster at all. To run Fisher's running scheme were going to need a nice solid FB to open holes for our RB's.

Re: Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
I love it! But what would you do about a back-up for Steven Jackson?

Re: Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
I thought about it, but I figured we will pass this year with the things we can scramble with. Perhaps we could go after someone like Jackie Battle or Michael Bush.
I'd prefer to pick up something small on a 1 yr deal and than address that with a high pick next year. I really like Marcus Lattimore.

Re: Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
ITs good it really is
But I am still afraid of our offense...essentially your replacing Lloyd's production with Blackmon and Quick basically replaced Danario Alexander as the guy with loads of potential with size and speed.
Also as you touched on in a reply there is no #2 runningback and no i do not think we should just go out and get a back-up i think we should go out and get someone we can use even if jax is healthy
We got some really good quality players but we are going to need more playmakers if we plan to score touchdowns even if it means getting a guy like Plax to help our red-zone Offense...or even trading for a solid #2 like a santana moss....Danny boy will be lining up in the slot often and we need another WR that can separate at the NFL level we dont know if quick can yet

Re: Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
I like it. People will say yeah but what about this position or that position. It cant all be filled with one draft and I agree we could go with a cheap backup RB again this year if need be as long as we fill other holes. I like both Blackmon and Quick (hope he is there in the 4th). Quick is raw but has good size and a high ceiling. I also like the Reyes, Osemele, and Spence picks all of them have a good chance at being there as well.

Re: Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
Good mock, but I still would like to see an RB drafted at some point. That said I'd be very happy if the rams got those picks.
Don't we have 2 7th round picks? The extra one coming from the Browns in the trade for Greco?

Re: Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
Even without a RB in the mock it's still a very good one. I'd take it. My plan B has been to get Quick if we don't get someone in the 2nd round. nicely done

Re: Mock Off Season Sosa's Style
Porter didn't make or break the off season. We can move on with another DB like Chris Carr (who is excellent in the slot) or William Middleton (held his own with the Jags last season) or just move on with what we have. I'd definitely look into both of these guys, but OLB in my opinion is much more concerning right now.
