The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
Dez Bryant seems to be solidified as the front runner for the WR class, he is sure to go in the 1st round. Now the Rams have a good chance of pickin' up a legit talent in the 2nd round. In my opinion the rest of the WR's look pretty interchangable to me. Who would you guys say is the best WR who could slip into the 2nd round?

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
To me, it comes down to Damian Williams and Brandon LaFell.
IMO, Tate is now a sure 1st round pick due to his combine performance, and Williams may have dropped due to his 4.53 40 time.
If I was a GM, I would go with Williams. LaFell is very good in his own right, but Williams 1) is a better WR IMO and 2) fits better in our scheme.

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
I'm cemented with Demaryius Thomas. OK, he'll never was projected as a first rounder, but he's my choice if we draft WR in second round (if we don't, it's Weatherspoon). I don't buy that he is a product of play acrions or single coverages. He's a palyer (and I am Ramone).

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
D. Thomas is the ideal pick for us if we grab another young WR. He's a big target and has a lot of potential compared to some of our smaller WR's.

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
I don't think that many teams have drafted a WR in the first around in a few years. (other than Detroit)
I think D. Bryant, A. Benn & G. Tate will go in the first round.
The next best WR's are B. LaFell & D. Williams.
D. Williams is more NFL ready, a better route runner than Lafell.
I would rather the Rams draft other positions than a WR in the 2nd round. OT, QB, DE, DT, Depending what they draft in round 1.
Geno Atkins DT
Alex Carrington DE
T. Washington OT or J. Veldeer OT
QB D. Lefevour

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
I don't know what the Rams are looking for in a WR. Do we want another Avery "stretch the field guy" or do we want just a big tall guy to run across the middle? Hoping you guys had some answers to back up your opinions.

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
If we got a receiver in an early round this year, I think we need to get a polished guy that can come in and contribute right away. On the other hand I understand that a big guy like Thomas is something we could use as well. I personally would either grab damian in the second (depending on who's there) or wait until the third round to try and find a few gems.

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
After that combine I think Tate has moved himself into the first round.
Thomas is probably the most physically gifted of all those wide receivers, but not being able to work out because of the injury will hurt him. And coming from a system like Georgia Tech you have to wonder how well he will run routes in the NFL. He's going to take time to develop. The kid is an athletic freak but there are some red flags surrounding him.
Williams is probably the best fit for this offense. Provides good YAC, an excellent route runner, and he played in a pro style offense at USC. Coming to a precision system like ours, he would be the perfect fit and would allow the Rams to slide Avery inside to be used as more of a slot receiver where I think he would be more effective. The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
If you watched the combine you would see Arrelious Benn clearly put himself into the top 5
1. Bryant
2. G Tate
3. Benn
4. M.Williams
5. D. Alexander

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
-Ya but Benn's performance in college leaves something to be desired. I dont think he has proven himself worthy to go in the 1st or early 2nd.
-Demaryius Thomas broke a bone in his foot while training for the combine. I think it's safe to say we won't take an injured player first pick of the 2nd round. We already got enough injured WR's.
-Golden Tate had an expolsive college career and an outstanding combine, he won't fall out of the 1st round.
-So this leaves us between Lafell, Williams, and Gilyard.

I think Benn did just fine in college with quarterbacks that really couldn't throw and a cast of bad players.
Benn will 100% go before D. Williams and 80% sure ahead of LaFell.

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
Although I hate the Illini with a passion, Arrelious Benn reminds me of Percy Harvin. A blue-chip prospect who battled injuries and too-high expectations, but still someone with amazing athletic ability. Also a playmaker who could contribute in our system right away. BUT drafting WRs is such a crapshoot, so I guess we will just have to wait and see...

Re: The Most NFL Ready WR Likely to Slip to the 2nd Round
I'd take Thomas. Injured foot isn't that big of a deal. The people he was training with in Arizona say that the guy has a work ethic like no-other and that he was running solid routes. Looks to be an Anquan Boldin in the making.
