My Dream Off-season at this Point
Sign:
Mike Wallace, WR: Premier deep threat, one of the BEST WR's in the game. Takes this offense to a whole new level.
Draft:
Rd 1 - Chance Warmack, OG
Rd 1 - Jake Matthews, RT
Rd 2 - Matt Elam, S
Our offensive line hasn't been doing great. With an elite prospect in Warmack, and another great one in Matthew (especially since he replaces Richardson) we can look great up-front.
Elam replaces Craig Dahl and brings a solid presence in the back end of our D.

Re: My Dream Off-season at this Point
Do you think Elam will be available at middle 2nd round around 47th overall, which seems like will be where we will be drafting with our 2nd?

Re: My Dream Off-season at this Point
Ok I'm not a big college football fan, so I rely on people here when draft time comes. So, I wasn't sure if Elam would be available then or even that was a dream part haha. What about taking Elam with that 2nd 1st rounder or too much of a reach? ?
We got plethora of picks so why not plug our holes with bpa at that position? ?The Kroenke-Snead-Fisher-Bradford Era

Re: My Dream Off-season at this Point
as long as we sign one of Wallace/Bowe, draft one of Warmack/Matthews and draft one of Elam/Vaccaro/Reid/Mcdonald I will be happy.
I think those are obviously our 3 biggest needs and I like the options in FA. We're lucky enough that the draft/FA is deep in positions that are our weakest positions.Last edited by mcpeepants232003; -12-16-2012 at 11:07 PM.

Re: My Dream Off-season at this Point
At this point, I would be very intrigued by either of these scenarios...
1. Jake Matthews, RT, Texas A&M
1. Matt Elam, SS, Florida
2. Dallas Thomas, LG, Tennessee
OR
1. Chance Warmack, LG, Alabama
1. Matt Elam, SS, Florida
2. D.J. Fluker, RT, Alabama
I think the likelihood of getting both Warmack and Matthews in the first round is slim, since both our picks are (at present) outside the Top 15. One could fall, both being there is unlikely IMO. Thankfully, there should be some good OL options in the second round. The question becomes, do the Rams double dip so early on OL? Fisher's history may suggest not, but clearly it's a weakness.Last edited by Nick; -12-16-2012 at 11:25 PM.

Re: My Dream Off-season at this Point
^ How much was Fisher responsible for Tenn drafts?
I think we have to go oline in round 1 with at least one pick. It's just such a glaring weakness that we have to.
I don't think we'll go OL with 2 of our first 3 picks though. Really it's hard to say until we see what we can get in FA. if we can not sign a big time WR I think we almost have to draft another WR in rounds 1 or 2(Hunter, Wheaton, Allen, Woods, Rogers, whoever).

Re: My Dream Off-season at this Point
To me, RT is a much bigger need than LG, but at this point Warmack is a superior prospect to Matthews. I go BPA and take Warmack (if he's still there). And seeing as how glaring a need S is, we may even need to double dip there (though I doubt it). If we can get someone like Louis Delmas, William Moore, Dashon Goldson, or Jairus Byrd in FA then we wouldn't be so hardpressed to go for a S in round 1.
I really like Elam as a prospect though.

Re: My Dream Off-season at this Point
The only person I've seen say that is Todd McShay...and well...that is self-explanatory. I'm not saying Warmack isn't the real deal, but I was more impressed with DeCastro last year.
My claim, and I will stick by this, is that if Jake Matthews played LT on another football team he would be rated as high if not higher than Joeckel. They both play very differently but Matthews has the higher ceiling."The potential in our lives far exceeds what we ordinarily imagine."
