There are questions marks with Dorsey, no doubt. He does not fill a top "need position," and he has injury "issues." That said, if I had to bet $1,000 on which player in this draft is most likely to be a Pro Bowl player within five years, I'd have to go with Dorsey.
Chris Long is my preference because I think he too can be a Pro Bowl player, he fits a need, and he is a safe pick.
But, for me, its a 51/49 split, not a 90/10 split.

can't agree more AV. Both will be impact guys and leaders and both will affect our pass rush in there own ways. Who will effect it more is the big question we will just have to see

Re: My Final Draft Poll
I'm hoping for a trade down, but if I had to pick, it would obviously be Vernon Gholston because I believe he fills our most glaring need better than any other.

Re: My Final Draft Poll
I'd love to see them take a trade down and snag Gholston or one of the other top 5 d-linemen. An extra pick in the 2nd or third round benefits us most. Why settle with the second pick and hope that Long or Dorsey work? There's a whole slew of other upgrades that can be made too.

Re: My Final Draft Poll
I voted for Chris, but I'd be happy with Dorsey--as long as defensive end was addressed sufficiently either later in the draft or through trade. I wouldn't be as excited about Dorsey, but I could see potential for that situation working out very well.

I think it is largely a positional issue. If you're picking in the top ten and you don't get Chris Long, you've still got a shot at Vernon Gholston, right? Then there are Harvey and Merlin, Campbell, Groves, and Jackson all likely to be gone by the first half of the second round. If you want a pass rushing defensive tackle, you've got Dorsey and Ellis, then maybe Sims in the second or Fluellen in the third. Kind of a steep drop-off.

What if the teams are the Falcons, Patriots, and Saints who want a DT. Ellis should be availbe to at least a couple of these teams. If the Falcons move up for Dorsey then they most have Dorsey rate very high or Ellis very low.

Re: My Final Draft Poll
Interesting. While Chris Long is still the clear favorite, more than half of the people who voted either prefer or, at least, would be happy with Dorsey.
Its going to be interesting.

I too would like to see us trade down but still be in line to draft Gholston.

Re: My Final Draft Poll
Give me Long or give me Dorsey, either way i'm ok. Just give me a Defense that puts the pressure on. I don't care where it comes from just get it done.

Well don't tell tx! He's hoping for mass anaphylaxis if Dorsey is the pick.

Very interesting, indeed. To pull from the political arena.....
Long's favorables = 69%; unfav. = 27%
Dorsey's favorables = 51%; unfav. = 45%
Either favorables = 40%; unfav. = 16%
Looks like Long is still the choice of the gen. pop., though we'd be happy with Dorsey as well. But we're not completely sold on Dorsey yet, are we?

Re: My Final Draft Poll
I vote trade down. Get Gholston and an extra pick for other needs to fill up. If no trade is gonna happen, I hope that we get Dorsey. Dorsey needs to be double teamed that will free up Carriker and Little. Teams are gonna decide which of the three will need to be double teamed the most. We can still grab a DE in 2nd or 3rd round with an extra pick.
