My Final Pre-Draft Poll
Which of these first round options do you like the best?
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I believe the cost to move up will be to high to pay. To many needs to fill, so we can't afford to give up the pick. With all the talk about our DL needs, I still think LB is more important. AS much as I believe Hawk is a difference maker, Carpenter will also make an impact.

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I'm going with trade down to take Carpenter.
We could take Carpenter with something between 24 and 29. A trade like that could bring in an extra high 2nd or mid 2nd w/ high 3rd....or maybe a future low 1st.
All that AND the best pure SOLB in the draft....yea, I'll take it."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I went with the trade down/select Donte Whitner choice. I think an extra pick in the second round of this draft could be very valuable.

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I also like the idea of trading down for Carpenter, since we pick up (I assume) at least another 3rd rounder and SLB is a definite need.
I also like the idea of trading up, but I fear the cost will be too great.

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I wanted to say trade up for Hawk, but I just didn't see us getting high enough to do that. After that it's a close call between going for Huff and trading down for Carpenter. In the end, I figured gaining a second and maybe more would outweigh the cost of a third rounder to move up. If we could get away with trading less than a third rounder or staying put, I would have gone Huff.

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I too went trade down for Carpenter. I don't have a warm fuzzy on Greenway, especially at 11.

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
It was a hard choice between these three for me:
Trade up - select Michael Huff
Trade down - select Donte Whitner
Trade down - select Bobby Carpenter
But I picked trade up for Huff, simply because it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and even though I really like Whitner and Carpenter, Huff is on another level IMO.

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I voted to take Ngata at #11, but im a big fan of building the front line. I would be very happy tho if we traded down & picked up Carpenter instead.

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
There isn't much drop off from Hawk to Carpenter in my mind, moving down and getting extra picks to address OL deficiencies is a bonus!!!

Re: My Final Pre-Draft Poll
I've given up all hope that we'll get Huff. He's a student of the game and I think in interviews he really impressed teams. I'm thinking he won't even be there for Detroit.
I vote we don't take anyone that socializes with Ricky Williams.
