My Rams offseason scenerio!
I posted this as a reply to another thread but got no answers so il start a new thread.
1 a. Trade Holt to the Titans for a 4th and 7th rounder (holt is only worth a 4th rounder but the titans 4th is too late)
1 b. drop Chavious
2. re-sign our guys:
Ron Bartell CB (4yrs)
Victor Adeienju DE (spell check) (2 yrs)
OJ Atogwe FS (1 yr franchise tag)
3. Get guys through FA
1. James Butler SS (3 yrs)
2. Matt Birk OC (2-3 yrs)
3. this one is complicated:
either get into a bidding war for Jordon Gross or get Stacy Andrews
4. Get players through the draft
Round 1: Andre Smith OL (as a RG)
see if James Laurinatis drops out of the top 20. Trade to either the Eagles #21 or Vikings #22 so the Patriots #23 dont get him. The trade will cost the Rams this (2009 round 2 pick, 2009 round 4 (titans), 2010 1st round pick)
Round 1: James Laurinatis MLB
Round 3: Ron Brace NT
Round 4 : Nate Davis QB
Round 5: Kevin Ellison SS
round 6: Kyle Moore OLB (USC defense men bak to bak)
Round 7: Brooks Foster WR
Round7: Gertell Johnson RB
OUr OL would look good:
LT Pace (Barron back up)
LG Bell (greco, incognito back up)
C Matt Birk
RG Andre Smith
RT Gross/ Andrews
Our D also looks good
LE Little
NT Brace
WT Carriker
RE Long
SLB pisa
MLB Laurniatis
WLB Spoon
CB#1 Bartell
SS Butler
FS Atogwe
CB#2 Hill
Re: My Rams offseason scenerio!
Just because you post something, doesn't mean you will always get a response to it.
Why would we waste our first round draft pick ranked as the second pick of the draft, on a GUARD?
Greco should do fine on the right side.
I would rather get a SS first, and then worrying about getting a developmental QB.

i already said we are getting james butler
Re: My Rams offseason scenerio!
Hey deeznutz
No way would I give up next years #1. The Rams will probaly have a top ten pick in the draft next year.
I'm hoping to sign some of the players the Rams have(R. Bartel & Atogwe) already.
If anyother free agents are signed I'm hoping MLB or SS.
The Rams need to rebuild through the Draft. A quick fix with aging free agents won't help in long run.
To me free agents are to take you over the hump to make playoff run & Superbowl.
How are you going to pay all these players you want, the Rams are only 14mil. under the cap.
Re: My Rams offseason scenerio!
Guard 1st Round no thanks, I would take Crabtree 1 million times more than Andre Smith
Re: My Rams offseason scenerio!
Gartrell Johnson will be long gone.
Also I would stay away from JL he can't shed blocks and isn't a very good blitzer. He also second guesses himself.
Re: My Rams offseason scenerio!
Here's my Mock.
Trade down for the 6th or 7th pick,2nd & 3rd or 2nd & 4th Round picks in this draft. Bengals or Raiders get the person they want. Well below Trade value Chart.
Rd 1 6th pick. OT M. Oher slipping or 1 of big 4 of the OT's
Rd 2 K. Britt WR (Rams cutting Holt for cap space)
Rd 2 P. Loadholt OT
Rd 3 R. Brace DT or J. Gilbert DT/DE
Rd 3 E. Wood "C"
Rd 4 S. Mckillop MLB (If no Free agent pick up)
Rd 5 C. Taylor SS (If no Free agent pick up)
Rd 6 K. Moore DE
Rd 7 T. Brandstater QB
That could build a good team. Hopefully the new Brain trust with the Rams can pick great players that will make the team as starters.
