My Safest vs Biggest Bust Potential Lists

When looking at who you would take if you were Les Snead and Jeff Fisher, or any other GM/coach combo, when your team is on the clock, a big factor is the relative "safeness" of the pick.

Of course, no pick is really safe, because injuries and other factors can turn star into bust pretty quick.

But here is my personal list of the safe vs unsafe early in this draft

    Safest
    1. Jake Mathews OT
    2. Sammie Watkins WR
    3. Taylor Lewan OT
    4. Zach Martin OL
    5. CJ Mosely LB
    6. M. Evans WR
    7. M. Martin C
    8. W. Richberg C
    9. X. Sua Filo - G
    10. D. Dennard CB
    11. C. Pryor S
    12. A. Donald DT
    13. K. Fuller CB
    14. K. Mack LB
    15. G. Robinson T
    16. J. Mathews WR
    17. O. Beckham WR
    18. G. Jackson G
    19. J. Clowney DE

    Big Bust Potential
    1. A. Barr LB
    2. K. Ealy DE
    3. B. Roby CB
    4. R. Shazier LB
    5. M. Lee WR
    6. E. Ebron TE
    7. R. Hageman DT
    8. T. Jernigan DT
    9. M Moses T
    10. J. Manziel QB
    11. D. Carr QB
    12. C. Kouandjio OT
    13. D Lawrence DE/LB
    14. C. Richardson G
    15. T. Bridgewater QB

Do you not see Ha Ha Clinton-Dix as a safe pick? If anything I would say he is one of the safest in the draft based on his back end coverage ability. Sure, he may not make a ton of big hits like Pryor, but he is a sure tackler.

Right with you on Barr. I think he plays lazy.

I don't see Evans as such a safe choice. I have very little confidence he can generate separation using his own abilities.

If Barr plays OLB in a 4-3, I agree massive bust potential.
If he plays DE or a blitzing OLB in the 3-4, I think he's relatively safe.
