Nevin McKenzie, University of Tennessee - Ever heard of him?

By chance, I met this young man tonight at a small bar here in San Antonio. He said he just got back from the combine and is headed to the draft next month. You never know what a person might say to you, so I did some Google searching when I got home. Found his bio and it was indeed the same person. Psych major at Tennessee, played LB, but I thought he mentioned maybe being a safety in the NFL.

The talk was everything I want to hear from a young man about to make a LOT of money. He would love to play for his favorite team (Cowboys) but was looking forward to playing, it didn't matter where. Said he didn't care if it was the worst team in the league and even if he was on the practice squad. He just wanted to get on a team and then learn and move his way up. A lot of talking about Mom, team, and loving the game.

    His stats are:

    20 Nevin McKenzie
    Class: Senior
    Hometown: San Antonio, Texas
    High School: John Jay
    Last College: Trinity Valley CC
    Height / Weight: 6-2 / 215
    Position: LB

I am going to post a couple links (I know, they might get deleted), but he has a highlight reel from 2007 on YouTube if you want to see.

What do you think? Good mid to late round pick up? I got is autograph just in case he becomes a Ram I can say I got it before he was drafted.

    This space for rent...

I remember watching him some (I try to watch all the SEC football I can).
I really can't recall too much, but I remember hearing his name every now and then. I do remember those LSU sacks though, because he laid a big hit and then sacked him again!
