New mock. Post signings so far ... Desc. for R1 of Rams
Round 1: Jimmy Williams DB Virginia Tech ... With the signing of Cory Chavous who should play SS where he is best at the Rams are short at FS. Jimmy Williams has FS experience. He would upgrade and possible starting Free Safety. He is a ball hawk and is physically gifted. Smash mouth hard nosed and hard hitting player. And can also play CB!

Round 2: Marcedes Lewis TE UCLA

Round 4: Jamar Williams LB Arizona State

Round 5: Nate Salley S Ohio State

Round 6: Willie Reid WR Flordia State

Round 7: Jarrad Page S UCLA

I was a big Parham fan until the combine, where he was unable to break 5.0 in the 40.
I'll be interested to see if he improves on that at the Virginia Pro Day.
As of now, I probably wouldn't take him on day 1, despite his production in college.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: New mock. Post signings so far ... Desc. for R1 of Rams
Chavous has played and very well may continue to play SS, but my impression was that he'd best suited as a FS and has even played corner before. Jimmy Williams still seems like a reasonable pick there, though. My impression is that Kai Parham is generally rated to go anywhere from the late 2nd to the 5th, so he might be a bit of a reach at that point. Plus what we really need now is an OLB, not an ILB since Spoon is being moved to middle. I do like Skyler Green as a returner even if we don't exactly need more WRs.

Skylar will go sooner than that. He has too much potential as a receiver as well as a returner to last past the late 4th or early 5th round.
The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

I changed it. Now what do you think?

Marcedes Lewis would be a horrible selection. His weakest point is his blocking ability and Linehan likes to have a TE that can block.
I like the Devin Hester selection.
I dont like the Jimmy Williams. The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

Because you want DeMeco Ryans who is Overrated and want him at #11.

No I want to trade down and snag him later in the first round. He'd be a better SAM LB than Greenway because of his ability to shed blocks. Whatever the outcome, if the Rams dont trade down; they have to draft someone higher than they are valued.Because you want DeMeco Ryans who is Overrated and want him at #11.The Roman and The Prince. Jeeze. Did I say anything about Greenway? And I"d take Hodge over Ryans and Carpenter.

I brought up Greenway because he values out closer to the #11 pick than Ryans does, but would not be as good of a SAM LB as Ryans. I dont see the point in taking Hodge when you just signed Witherspoon to be your MLB.Did I say anything about Greenway? And I"d take Hodge over Ryans and Carpenter. The Roman and The Prince. Hodge is big enough to play outside and more physically gifted than Ryans.

Re: New mock. Post signings so far ... Desc. for R1 of Rams
Hodge is a MLB who has no experience at OLB. He's not as smart of a player as Ryans either. He's great against the run from the MLB position, but would never be anything better than decent at OLB. Ryans also played the SAM LB position.Hodge is big enough to play outside and more physically gifted than Ryans.
Also, how can you have an opinion on a guy you never watched play? Demeco Ryans was disruptive in every game and is one of the most instinctive players coming out this year. He's intelligent enough to be a starter from day one and has the ability to stay in the league for a long time. He's not a Cornelius Bennet or a Derrick Thomas in terms of talent, but his intelligence makes up for some of the natural talent that he lacks.Last edited by RamJackson39; -03-13-2006 at 12:57 AM.

Actually Hodge is probrably just as smart as Ryans and is around the ball more. And is more physically gifted. So I'd take Hodge over Ryans even though most people will disagree.

Um, as a SAM outside linebacker, I'd take Ryans over Hodge every day of the week.
