Re: NFLDC's Scott Wright on the Rams' second overall pick
Hey Nick, the audio file on putfile won't work for me. I've got the full version playing from the PSN website, how far in is the Rams' discussion?

Re: NFLDC's Scott Wright on the Rams' second overall pick
Very interesting. If anything, it's made me more skeptical of the Dorsey pick, and of moving Carriker again to end. What intruigues me is his comments about the versatility of both Carriker and Dorsey.
What I wonder; would Dorsey make an impact as a 3-4 end?
Personally, I think probably no, at least not full time, but if we do select him on DBPA basis, playing him at end in a 3-4 has to at least be worth a look, forming a front 7 that looks something like this;
Carriker at one end.
Ryan on the nose.
Dorsey at the other end.
Little at outside Backer.
Witherspoon inside.
??? inside.
Tinoismaoa at outside Backer.
It's a thought that I find appealing sheerly because of the comments Wright made about surprising an offense, and keeping them off balance with the looks they present. Wasn't Haslett was a 3-4 guy in Blitzburgh?
Maybe I'm completely off my rocker, but it's a direction we could look to pursue upon drafting Dorsey.
I'm still holding out for Chris Long.

Re: NFLDC's Scott Wright on the Rams' second overall pick
Yeah, you're probably right. Call it temporary delusion.
I was interested, also, by what Wright had to say about Olinemen, and especially about the true LT's in the draft.
He listed Clady and Chris Williams as the best left tackle prospects in the draft, and also talked about Baker as a LT as a four year starter from SC, and about Carl Nicks' versatility.
Personally, I'm swaying toward Williams and Nicks as the best LT prospects for us likely to be available in round 2. Williams may even be gone. I do like the idea of perhaps having Nicks as an option inside, potentially to start or to back up if we land a feee agent, before moving outside to repalace Pace.
