Ohio State linebacker Bobby Carpenter and North Carolina State end Manny Lawson have been mentioned as possible draft picks to play in the 3-4 scheme.

Carpenter is your ideal SLB. He has good coverage skills and great size, and would be an excellent rush backer coming off the edge of the 3-4. Manny Lawson could pull a Demarcus Ware and really rise up the ranks of the first round. His size and speed really make him an ideal fit in the 3-4 at OLB. If I had to pick for the Rams, I'd probably rather take Carpenter because I think he's more versatile, but both are probably right around that 20-32 range in the late first round as of right now. Could change depending on combine and pro days though.
