Re: Nick's January Pre-Declaration Round One Mock Draft
I'm pretty sure McFadden's declaration has been all but officially confirmed. ESPN reported he was coming out two days ago based on various sources even though his father is publicly denying a report that he sent in the paperwork for his son.
Jones likely is fourth or fifth in the RB rankings this year if he comes out, but next year's RB class is not looking all that impressive in terms of highly rated seniors. So he could stay in school one more year and with a good year be the top rated senior running back in 2009. It'll be an interesting decision.

Just as an FYI, Felix Jones will in fact be going pro as well. Lots of talent at RB in this class.

Jones has declared.
What good is it to be the top rated senior RB? Off the top of my head, I can't think of a senior RB that even has a chance to be a 3rd round pick this year.
RB is one position where "senior" hurts you. I still can't believe Chicago used a Top 5 pick on Cedric Benson.

.
I hope we don't pay any attention to guys that rise due to workout numbers - pick them
for what they do and did on the field.
I think Chris Long would turn out to be a very good pick. If we do that, it would be nice
to come back and address the OL in the second round and then go for competition/depth
on the O-line later.
Free Agency shouldn't be overlooked. Look at the Patriots.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed we land Chris Long. I think he will be a huge and immediate impact on our defence.

Re: Nick's January Pre-Declaration Round One Mock Draft
Although I didn't watch much of the Pro-Bowl yesterday I did catch a quick blip from Adam Schefter.
Schefter stated that Chris Long has become the consensus #1 pick around the NFL. Schefter seemed surprised. Which inturn surprised me. I hope he's wrong I don't want the Dolphins picking our guy.
