Re: Nick's Updated Two-Round NFL Mock & Full Rams Mock Draft (4/2)
I really don't like Luiget
I also wonder about the Rams real interest in him. Billy is a very sneaky guy I doubt at #14 he is sending 4 guys to his pro day just because they are interested. I think they are trying to throw some folks off.
However, the film I've seen of Luiget, Ohio State game, he didn't look great. He is definitely not a penetrator, and not a good pass rusher at all. So what does he offer us that we don't already have?

If we lose out on Jones... Alot of mocks have us taking another #2 WR with our second pick. I hope the Rams go a different route if Jones is gone. Please don't add another #2 WR to this squad.

I think you misunderstood the wording a little bit when he meant Smith had a lot of potential to develop into a #1 receiver.
It's really possible he can develop into a #1 with McD pulling the strings in offense but I prefer Jones to be a part of that dynamic duo in the making with Bradford.

A lot of players on there that I like. Personally, I'm not overly excited about Hankerson, but I would be glad to see us land Wright and Hurd on Day 3. As for Luiget, I wouldn't be disappointed if we took him, although in this scenario, I would also still be tempted to take Aldon Smith instead.

Re: Nick's Updated Two-Round NFL Mock & Full Rams Mock Draft (4/2)
He's projected as a second rounder. There are no rules that stipulate that somebody who is drafted in the second round IS a number two wideout. Let's do a breakdown of #1 receivers to be found outside of the first 32 picks in the last five years.
2010 - Mike Willams, Tampa Bay. It's still too early to call the rest, but it is noteworthy that the only rookie receiver to make a significant impact was not a first rounder. Jacoby Ford, also a fourth rounder, is showing a lot of promise in Oakland.
2009 - Mike Wallace, Pittsburgh. You could also make the case for Mike Thomas from Jacksonville (sheesh, are there any receivers named Mike in this draft?) and Johnny Knox in Chicago.
2008 - DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia.
2007 - Sidney Rice, Minnesota Vikings. Steve Smith, New York Giants.
2006 - Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers. Brandon Marshall, Miami Dolphins.
