NOT at all thrilled with our O line
Ok, we're moving Barron to LT (which he is naturally suited for) and he isin the last year of his first NFL contract, so for him its proving time(and QUIT the false start penalties)
Cogs is at RG and is as well in the last year of his first NFL contract, so for him its proving time as well
The center is well proven, I would believe
LG and RT are question marks as well
Sooooooooo we definately need help still on the O line We ALSOdesperately need a solid MLB, and that is a real need plus our receiving coprs are really thin now that Torry Holt will be gone
So, what say you?????????
What is our "A #1 FIRST PRIORITY next in the FA period(and what is decent that is left by now) and what should be our first picks in round 1-3???

Round 1-3, IMO we should draft OT, MLB, DT.

Re: NOT at all thrilled with our O line
I would really like to get an experienced NT in FA rather then bring a young buck 3rd rd. My guess is that we take a OL and a MLB 1-2 rds. Not specifically in that order. If we take Curry at 2, we will get an OL if a good one is available in the 2nd. If we get Smith/Monroe at 2, then expect a LB to be coming in the 2nd. And if we can get a NT in FA, we can use our 3rd rd for CB or WR. That's my ideal draft scenario.

Re: NOT at all thrilled with our O line
free agency- back up qb and and OT to add more depth. round one MLB, round two OT, round three DT, possibly a wide reciver could also be an option in round three.

Re: NOT at all thrilled with our O line
actually, Barron's false starts have decreased every year and moving to LT should also help him. I have big hopes for Greco, I think he was maybe the most important selection last year and played well when asked last season. Bell at RT is a concern because I just don't know that much about him.
Look for the Rams to add depth to the O line middle to late in the draft. Who they take first is anyone's guess right now.

Re: NOT at all thrilled with our O line
It has been observed by me & many others that the Rams needed to build right down the middle of the team & it's happening; a new FB, a new center , a new safety. A work in progress but progress it most definitely is.
I wouldn't read too much into the early shuffle now that Pace is gone. All about assessing the best 5 guys currently available for versatility & depth, imo.
At least we now have some budget to work with in getting our draft & depth FA priorities straight.
Am I thrilled? No, but seriously encouraged by the approach.
DeSpags are getting the ab crunches done.

Re: NOT at all thrilled with our O line
If we pick up Angelo Crowell in FA for the strong side linebacker position, we could get Curry in the first and put him at MLB. Then, in the second round, we could draft the tackles William Beatty or Phil Loadholt, both of those guys aren't a huge dropoff from the top linemen. We could put the new lineman at right tackle, put Bell at gaurd, and then we wouldn't have a half bad line. Barron, Bell, Brown, Incognito/Greco, and Loadholt/Beatty. That sounds like a good line.

Re: NOT at all thrilled with our O line
Loadholt may be too high for our selection. He's big but his technique is suspect. Orakpo used him in their matchup this year.

if not Loadholt Jamon Meredith. I just think Loadholt is the best RT in this draft he isn't to far behind Jeff Otah IMO.

Loadholt is big though. Really big. He blocks the sun he's so big.
