Not taking a DB in the first round now leaves us with this situation

I'm thinking we take Jordan Mathews or Keith McGill with the 2nd or even try and trade out.

No DBs available that are game changers as you can see with Brandt's updated list.

However, NO way I would take any DB over Donald. Without question the right pick, but look at all the OLs right around our 2nd round pick and it is too bad we couldn't trade down, get our CB in the 1st and still get Donald and then come back today and get our OL. Oh well, can't have everything I guess.

Let's not forget... a lot of top DBs were taken in the 2nd round or later.

I agree that taking Donald was the right move, notwithstanding the subsequent run on DBs.

Just because the Rams have a need at DB doesn't mean it has to be filled in the draft this year. Get BPA and fill gaps w/ veterans off the free agency list.

I'm thinking the Rams end up with FS Terrence Brooks or LaMarcus Joyner, two guys I'm VERY high on.

Rams do have Jenkins, Johnson, Mcloud can play nickel with 2nd year of Mcgee and signing Reid to a 3 year deal. I think maybe the Rams believe they can fill the corner slot with another veteran CB if the a corner does not fall to them.

I really do not see the Rams drafting another WR prospect early. We have Baily and Austin coming into their own in year 2. Givens and Quick on year 3 still maturing. Remember it takes receivers 2-3 years to grasp the playbook and get accilimated to the NFL game. If each receiver matures and grows into the type of receiver they can be then we're already set. I have not even talked about the low risk signing on Britt and the play you know you're going to get with Pettis.

What is it about those two that you like? I have read that after Ward the quality of S drops off considerably which is why the reach for Bucannon and Ward in the first.

Out of the two, who do you see as the better fit?

Joyner: He's a small guy I believe under 5'9 but he's tough and gritty. He's nasty in the sense that he's always around the ball laying a big hit on the ball carrier. He's quick and has nice range. He can play nickel CB or FS as well. He reminds me of Tyrann Mathieu in his versatility and Troy Polamalu in his terms of play. He's a playmaker and a "football player".

Brooks: He is a true center fielder. Brooks played plenty of coverage's at Florida St. He's played plenty of cover 2 and plenty of single high coverage. He was left at the back by himself so you can tell he's prepared to be a true FS at the next level. He's also a playmaker. He has excellent range and moves quick. He is a better natural fit at FS but both of these guys would cement the back end.

As for which one I want? It doesn't matter. Both will be good.
