Now we need a right tackle at #19
Now that we are set at defensive end, do we all agree that jamaal brown will be our choice if available at #19. Would we trade up to get him? if not and he is gone, what will we do?

It's either Jammal Brown or, if Brown is gone, best available defensive back, in my opinion. I don't think we should spend a first round pick on Khalif Barnes. Even though he may turn out to be a great player, I see him as more of a workout warrior who would require more work to get ready for the field.

Nick, when you say defensive back, do you mean corner or safety or just safety. Would you trade a #4 to get high enough to make sure that you got brown.

By defensive back I mean corner or safety.
As for Brown, keep in mind we traded our first and a fourth rounder last year to move up two slots to get Steven Jackson, so I think it's going to cost more than our first and fourth to move up and grab Brown.
I think if Brown slips past Carolina, then he's our's - I don't see any other team between Carolina and us drafting an OT. So that said, if Barron goes off the table and we want to secure Brown, it's going to cost more than a fourth and our first to trade up, I think.

Here's my hierarchy of first round picks.
1. Jammal Brown - our starting RT in 2005, no doubt about it.
2. Trade down, take Brodney Pool - our starting FS in 2005, again, no doubt about it.
3. Khalif Barnes - I think he'd be an effective starter at RT, certainly better than what we have now.
