Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

i guess bc james has better intangibles than rey, is better in coverage, and misses less tackles which makes him more of a 3 down baker than rey

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

Must be a reason for it but I preferred Rey. Nonetheless, we should be good to go with the choice we made. Definitely filled a big need.

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

The Rams had Maualuga in for a pre-draft visit, and they took Laurinatis over him. That should tell you something. I think with Rey its about discipline, and the lack thereof. I would have been fine taking him at #35, as he clearly has a lot of talent, but I love the Laurinatis pick.

Exactly! James is better overall and misses less tackles, his sure tackling is why so many teams like him.

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

I wanted Maualuga toughness but I will be fine with Laurinatis consistency and smart play...

With this selection the Rams improve 2 positions. MLB and now Spoon can go back to his position.

Go Rams
