Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Agreed AV. The FO hasn't given me any reason to doubt their logic. Being in PAC 10 territory gave me big doses of Maualuga and not so much Laurinatis. So I am biased by what I saw on the field.
Great choice though. Now let's get more holes filled.

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Several quality OT still available in round 2 for those who thought the Rams had no other choice but to go OT with the 2nd overall pick.....

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Question now shifts to Round 3 ?
Where to go / ?
WR, DT, or another LB...?
I thought if the Titans didn't pick Britt he would have been ours., but solid draft so far ., gotta love the new organizational direction...

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
So far, I think the war room has used some deep thought about what it will take to get us back in the mix. Two picks, two players who can be instant upgrades.
I'm ready for the pre-season already...

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
12. New Orleans Saints - James Laurinatis/LB (Ohio State)
With Deuce coming back to help Reggie in the backfield and WR Robert Meachum having a full year under his belt as an NFL receiver, the Saints will be alright on offense. Defense is anothe matter entirely. They need help pretty much everywhere. Look for them to take the best defensive player left in the draft (whoever that might be come April), which happens to be James Laranaitis on my board.
Many had James Laurinatis going very high last year. Then he stayed in school. I think we scored big time. If we would have got Long and Laranaitis in last years draft, we all would have been happy. We have both of them now.

Glad we got the players we did. Hope Laurinitis plays out man. I'm REALLY excited about that pick!
Kinda upset that Seahawks and Niners got good players. But it was bound to happen.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Re: The Official 2009 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Saw Michael Johnson still on the board after the second round. What is everyone's thoughts on him? I would love him & I think he is a steal in the 3rd. With Little creeping up in age he would be a great DE to bring up behind him.
