The Official 2012 NFL Combine Thread
New sticky to cover this week's Combine!
Two possibly Rams-related notes to consider...
-USC offensive tackle Matt Kalil measured in at 6'6' and 306lbs today. That's nearly ten pounds heavier than his listed weight.
-Stanford OT Jonathan Martin measured in at 6'5" and 312lbs today, but will not work out due to an illness, as he "doesn't feel comfortable performing the drills with his draft stock on the line until he's back to 100 percent."
-Alabama RB Trent Richardson was given a passing review Thursday at the NFL scouting combine following an exam of his left knee that underwent arthroscopic surgery on Feb. 3, a development which noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews said, "was about as minor and routine as you can get."

He wasn't making it out of the top 5 anyway, but with a weight that doesn't start with a "2", he's golden........assuming he works out as he should, of course.
Good news for Kalil.

Some people said Wright would be listed at 5 foot 9 or shorter so I guess that's a victory for him. Alshon put his weight issue to rest finally by weighing in less than Floyd. Blackmon is a solid 6 foot 1 and would of been hurt if measured in shorter.

Re: The Official 2012 NFL Combine Thread
Jeffery isn't even that big. I thought he was close to 6'5. At this point I'd almost rule him out. He's cut weight when it needs to be, other than that I doubt he keeps at 216 for the next 10 years. He isn't particularly great anything other than being big and jumping over guys and making spectacular catches.
I really like Floyd. He comes in at 6'3 too. He's gonna be a monster in the NFL.
Re: The Official 2012 NFL Combine Thread
Justin Blackmon officially measured 6-foot, 7/8" and 207 pounds. Would be smallest receiver taken in top ten since Ted Ginn (2007).

Bad showing for Adams and Konz.
The longer the arms the harder it is. Osemele and Glenn have very impressive showings considering how long their arms are.

While I'm not quite sure how Floyd's 6'3" is praisable while Jeffery's 6'3" is worthy of criticism (Jeffery actually came in a quarter-inch taller, FWIW), I do think you've made a valid point about his weight concerns. Looks like Nutrisystem will be getting a new spokesperson out of this class.

Coming in an eighth of an inch shorter than listed height doesn't concern me at all. The eight pounds below listed weight is likely due to his trying to get as fast as possible.
I'd think out of everyone, Rams fans would be among the most willing to entertain the thought of receivers who aren't giants on the field, given how spoiled we were watching Bruce and Holt slice up defenses for a number of years.

Yeah, I think Adams would like that one back. Long arms or not, I think the baseline number of reps for a lineman should be in the 20s.

About you're first point, the thing I always thought of Jeffery was that he had size over everyone in the draft. That was the "thing" that he had in his corner that gave him a reason to be the deabateable #1 WR in the draft. Now seeing as Floyd is the same size and in my opinion a lot better around other aspects I'd feel extremely comfortable taking Floyd and Blackmon. The other WR's I wouldn't touch until Rd 2.
Re: The Official 2012 NFL Combine Thread
I wonder if Reiff's arm length will drop him or keep him from playing left tackle. Teams usually go for what... 34? Reminds me of Gallery though I think Gallery's were a tad shorter.

Exactly. I dont think Reiff will play LT. I really like Cordy Glenn. This kid just continues to impress even after the shrine game. He's killing the sizing and ran a sub 5.
