Oh Football God, please forgive me for voicing my opinion. Please, oh Football Lord, give me the strength and the power necessary to blindly support the Rams decision making, even I personally feel they made the wrong decision. Football God, please not let us debate the Rams pick, but let us all hold hands and sing in agreement.

I do think that throwing up your hands and saying its all over because we didn't take Claiborne given the needs we have is ridiculous.

Here's the thing. The Rams would have it tough to win the division next year even with one difference maker. So how about you build quality throughout and then bring in the difference makers when you're ready for them? Long-term vision and I'm glad for it. Some might not like that dose of realism, but I'd prefer a slow, steady build leading to continued long-term success, than bringing in one or two big players who swim around in a pool of goldfish. AKA Steven Jackson, Sam Bradford. Two 'difference makers' who without equal quality around them on the offense are limited in terms of the impact they can have. Bringing the average level of ability up across the whole side and THEN adding your cherries on top is the sensible way to go, imo. If we get De Castro or Floyd, we've done exceptionally well. Not sexy, but great team building.

Heres the thing...adding one #45 and whiffing on consensus SHUT DOWN CORNERS in the PASS HAPPY NFL is STUPID. Period. The Rams have already stockpiled picks for the next couple drafts. This pick was #6...IN HAND!! No assurance they will pick this high ANY TIME in the next 2 drafts! Top DB in the entire draft. Do you WATCH Ram games? They have been getting torched for years. This is a real area of need. Adding Finnegan was nice...but this would have made them SPECIAL vs opponents passing attacks. I have heard it said (by pros) many times...CB has the easiest learning curve for NFL rookies.

now we can watch the Cardinals beat us up and down the field, because we have our #1 finnegan on fitzgerald, no1 on flloyd... and we can just sit back and watch another 2-14 season as the WRs that should have been on our team, score all over us.

No its not over. Its still going on. But its not going as good as it could be. Claiborne is a top five talent. Whoever we pick at #45 isn't.

Not missed a game in nearly five years - enough time to recognise that we have big needs all over, not just at CB.

I hear both sides of this story, I just don't think the sky's falling in just yet and think there's a lot of value to be had in the trades we've made. Altho I'd rather have seen De Castro drafted than Brockers, I have to say.
