Glad this news broke, Alex Smith was set to visit, now he can take the Fins offer if they give him one.

Matt Flynn = Kevin Kolb part 2. I think Kolb can actually still salvage his career. I don't see Flynn being a good QB. He just came in a ridiculously good system around him to put those numbers up. And he did play the Lions pass Defense. Who even in the playoffs gave up ridiculous yardage and points...

Re: The Official 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker

According to the Denver Post, the Dolphins are currently negotiating a contract with free agent Alex Smith that would pay him $8 million annually.
The Dolphins are so desperate, after losing out on Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn, that they're now willing to significantly overpay a borderline NFL starter at near the level of franchise quarterback money. Matt Flynn only got $6.33M annually from the Seahawks. Smith isn't as physically talented as incumbent Dolphins starter Matt Moore, and he's certainly not worth more than Flynn. At this point, it's almost like the Fins are trying to sign a quarterback, just to sign a quarterback.

I have a very great feeling that Peyton's chances are at 50% Titans, 45% Broncos, and 5% *****.

So I am happy that the Niners might be in QB shambles now

Great day to be a Rams fan... Seahawks sign Flynn as their solution, Niners might lose Manning and Smith. On the other hand sucks that the Rams lost out on Winston. I would hate to see Jason Smith out there again.

Re: The Official 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker

The Associated Press reports the Jets are now trying to trade QB Drew Stanton after acquiring Tim Tebow from the Broncos.
Stanton just a signed a reasonable one-year, $1.25 million deal. The Jets have to hope that a team in need of a quality backup, such as the Rams, Raiders or Packers prefers Stanton to the mediocre veteran options still available. The best they can hope for is a late-round pick. Stanton chose the Jets over the Bucs and Chiefs, who went on to sign Dan Orlovsky and Brady Quinn respectively.

" Saints agreed to terms with OLB Chris Chamberlain on a three-year contract.

He's reunited with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, under whom Chamberlain spent the last three seasons. The 26-year-old started 13-of-16 games in 2011, racking up 81 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, and an interception. Look for Chamberlain to compete with Scott Shanle to start at weak-side 'backer. "

The Rams must of known he was gone when bringing in Jo-Lonn. Erin Henderson resigned too. The Rams have to bring in 1 OLB who can at least pretend to be a starter.

So true, I'm starting to get a little frustrated as I see the whiners signing second tier players and we seem to be in a holding pattern.
