NO way Mario Manningham is a #2 ............

He is a straight line player....He has no potential to be a #1 WR, and can only be a number 2 WR as a fill in for an injured player.....

Heck, I would rather take a chance on Anthony Gonzalez than overpay for Mario Manningham that can run a route tree.


Manningham's success is largely due to the Giants throwing the ball more than 95% of teams and he was the only vertical threath they had.....on any other team his stats take a big hit...

I guess we don't need him then, since we have so many vertical threats.

2009: Rams 543 Pass attempts, Giants 542(17th most attempts)
2010: Rams 590 Pass attempts, Giants 539 (17th most)
2011: Giants 589 Pass attempts (6th most), Rams 549.

Manningham had a down year last year, I believe due to injuries. In 2010, he had 60 catches for 944 yards, 9 tds. In 2009 57 catches for 822 and 5 tds. More yards than any receiver on our team by far.

He has issues, that's whats keeping him from being a #1 WR already, but the potential is there imo. Even if he's not a real 1 or 2 WR, he's still a much bigger threat than anyone we have or anyone we could sign. I don't understand why you'd rather have someone like Gonzalez or Doucet. Obviously I don't want to overpay, but if the price is right....

If he doesn't get offered what he wants, then signing here for 1 year would make a lot of sense. I can only think of Jacksonville having a worse WR group. Here he'd have a chance to show he can be a #1, and then get his big contract.

Even though I liked Robinson more than Gibson its easier to get a lot of touches and look better when your surrounded by two really good wr's. Alvin Harper looked good with the Cowboys then he left Michael Irvins side and his career failed. I'll make a judgement on Robinson when he does it on his own and good luck doing that with Jacksonville.

He may not be a top 10 WR in the NFC East alone.....speed guy, with avg hands, avg routes...

Price is wrong for us...he wants too much , he wouldn't sign anywhere for a one year deal unless he was extremely overpaid...

I have watched every single Giants game, and I think I know WRs pretty well, Manningham is a WR 2/3 -- Meaning he can be a temporary 2 or everyday #3....

His value was in when you don't have to pay alot for his service....The big catch he made has given him extra PR....

Doucet can run a route tree for alot less money...

I think this guy is definately signing with the Rams....He was looking for somewhere else...I don't know why he didn't want to stay in GB , but I am pretty sure he will be a Ram by day end...

Hmmm Miami plays 3-4 and he plays end there. Seems to fit the same mold as Jason Jones. Think we also still need a sloppy big space eater.
