The best RT on the open market the Rams can look at now is Anthony Collins. He's young, and played well when called upon. He can compete with Smith for RT and would get a cheap contract (compared to Winston). I hope they give him a look.
I don't get that one either...

The Boston Herald believes Brandon Lloyd's signing could signal the end of free agent Deion Branch's time in New England.
The Patriots also took a flier on Anthony Gonzalez Saturday, and despite Branch's near desperation to re-sign with the Pats, it's looking increasingly likely he'll be playing elsewhere in 2012. Branch has drawn no reported interest since the Tuesday start of free agency.

Yikes... This is what its come to? Posting Deion branch free agent updates? I think I'd feel more confident in the guys we have now then with Branch.

Does anyone know why there hasn't there been any interest in Brodrick Bunkley? He's a big run stuffing DT after all

Free agent CB Tracy Porter has scheduled visits with the Titans and Rams.
Porter visited the Bengals last week. It's believed he was in Oakland visiting the Raiders on Monday. Still only 25, medical concerns may be lowering Porter's market value to the point where he'd accept a one-year, "prove-it" deal.

So if we were to sign porter, and then Claiborne was the guy left at our turn, what would we do?

I'd say that trading down would be the best option. Failing that, I'd say Reilly Reiff, Fletcher Cox, Jonathan Martin, David DeCastro, Dontari Poe and maybe even Michael Floyd would be considered.

While some, or maybe even all, of those players may seem to be "reaches" at No. 6, you can't discount the fact that rookie salaries are pretty much bargains compared to what the FAs are getting.

If a deal w/Porter can be reached, I'm all for it. Having Finnegan and Porter (and, hopefully, Brad Fletcher) would put the Rams in very good shape at the CB position.

Since everyone of those guys would be a gigantic reach, I would actually be happiest selecting DeCastro at 6. He's probably the best player in the draft. If your going to reach you might as well take a player you know we be an all-pro for a decade.

There is probably no chance Claiborne actually passes Tampa, but if he did I don't think it would be too hard to trade the pick.

You keep using the word "reach." I do not think it means what you think it means.

If we signed Porter, why not take Claiborne at 6 if he is there? Porter has had injury issues. Porter at that point could just add much needed depth at the position, and we need it considering what happened last year.

If he's healthy enough to sign, I'd expect he'd be a starter.

Well the good thing about missing out on all these free agents, is that we can carry over the cap room to future seasons, and then hopefully have enough to sign real proven players instead of just guys with potential.

My first inclination would be to take Claiborne anyway.

Finnegan, Porter, Fletcher....that's a good 3 deep. But if last year taught us anything, it's that our CB "3 deep" might last us until about Week 4.
