Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 15th pick of the 2011 ClanRam Scouts Mock Draft, the Miami Dolphins select...

Mike Pouncey - OL - Florida
I'll start off by saying that I'm personally not sold on Pouncey as a top twenty or even first round pick, but opinions on the Florida interior lineman vary. There are some teams who are reportedly considering him in the Top 20, and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see Miami pull the trigger. Preferably they'd like to trade down a few spots, but if they can't, they may target Pouncey as their guy and just go with it. While I had the Dolphins taking Mark Ingram in my own mock draft, there's certainly a case to be made that the interior offensive line is as big a need as any on this team. If Miami believes they can find a capable runner in the mid-rounds, they could snatch up the draft's best interior lineman here in the first round.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 16th pick in the 2011 ClanRam Scouts Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select:

Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue
The Jaguars need to upgrade their pass rush in a big way, and Kerrigan is a good value here. He has drawn comparisons to Chris Long - hard worker, good "motor," high character. The Jaguars have two young DT (Knighton, Alualu), so adding Kerrigan can be a great building block for th future.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 17th pick in the 2011 Clanram Scouts Mock Draft, the New England Patriots select:
Watt has really come on as a player during workouts and at the combine, and he's been rocketing up draft boards; it's a small surprise to see him available here. In Watt, the Patriots see their next Richard Seymour - a guy who is big and strong enough to hold down the 5-technique and can get a strong enough push to harass the passer from the right side. I did consider the other defensive ends available, and I gave a lot of thought to Cameron Jordan, but in the end, I think Watt's performance wins out on film.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 18th pick of the 2011 ClanRam Scouts Mock Draft the San Diego Chargers select:
MUHAMMAD WILKERSON DE/DT, TEMPLE
Wilkerson is very good at stopping the run and putting pressure on the opposing QB. Jacques Cesaire, a declining D lineman is a free agent. He needed to be upgraded anyway.Last edited by laram0; -04-05-2011 at 11:34 AM.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 19th pick of the ClanRam 2011 mock draft, the New York Giants select:
AKEEM AYERS OLB, UCLA
As tempting as Castonzo was, the bottom line is Oline and Dline in general and OT in particular are among the Giants' strengths. What they desperately need is LB help, and I don't think Ayers is too much of a reach here, especially in a very thin linebacker draft.
We''ll see next year when we play them how good he is.Last edited by AvengerRam; -04-05-2011 at 12:04 PM.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 21st pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select:

Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
The Chiefs need a RT, and they do well to get a solid starter in Castonzo. He's not this year's Bulaga, but he will upgrade their OL immediately.Last edited by AvengerRam; -04-06-2011 at 10:33 AM.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 22nd pick, the Indianapolis Colts select...

Gabe Carimi - OT - Wisconsin
The Colts are preparing to make a big investment in Peyton Manning this offseason, meaning they'll need to do a better job protecting that investment. Carimi has the versatility to move into the left tackle position ahead of Charlie Johnson, or eventually replace Ryan Diem at right tackle. Either way, he'll be a boost for the Indy offense.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 23rd pick in the 2011 ClanRam Scouts Mock Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select:

Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois
The conventional wisdom says that the Eagles will take an OT or CB, but I'm just not seeing great value there. Liuget, on the other hand, is arguably the BPA, at least on the defensive side of the ball. He'll find a role before long.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 24th pick in the 2011 Clanram Scouts Mock Draft, the New Orleans Saints select:
Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State
This marks an astounding eleventh defensive lineman taken in the first three quarters of the first round. We're on pace for an NFL record. In New Orleans, somebody's going to have to start across from Will Smith, and it might as well be the young, strong Buckeye. In any other draft, Heyward would probably hear his number called in the mid teens, and he might still, but the Saints are happy to grab one of the last first tier DE's still available.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 25th pick of the 2011 ClanRam Scouts Mock Draft, the Seattle Seahawks Select:

JAKE LOCKER, QB, WASHINGTON
Matt Hasselbeck will most likely be back for another year or two. The search for a top-tier quarterback is answered with this pick. Back-up Charlie Whitehurst is not the answer. The Seahawks felt that worthwhile QB's would be gone by the time their next pick rolled around. The time was right to nab what they feel will be their QB of the future.
Locker is a local boy and the fans will certainly rally around him. He's a born leader that just needs some time to hone his skills at the NFL level.Last edited by laram0; -04-06-2011 at 11:28 AM.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 26th pick in the 2011 Clanram mock draft, the Baltimore Ravens select:
Jimmy Smith CB, Colorado
The Ravens' corners were less than stellar last year, and Baltimore hasn't drafted one since 2009. This guy's a specimen, and if the off-field (minor) problems are behind him, he can help them maintain their rep as a upper tier defense for a long time.Last edited by VegasRam; -04-07-2011 at 11:08 AM.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 27th pick in the NFL draft the Falcons select
Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State
3 of the 5 starting Offensive linemen are free agents. Sam Baker struggled on the left side. Sherrod will be the LT of the future allowing Baker to move RT replacing FA Tyson Clabo. 2 bookend tackles to protect franchise QB Matt RyanLast edited by 39thebeast; -04-06-2011 at 11:29 AM.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 28th pick, the New England Patriots select:
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama.
And the rich keep getting richer. The Pats who never seem to really have any "needs", but make their draft selections with as much fuss as a rich woman selecting her Kentucky Derby hat: She doesn't "need" one, but rest assured she will only take the prettiest. Same with the Pats; didn't expect Ingram to be here, but they can use him.Last edited by AvengerRam; -04-06-2011 at 02:53 PM.

Re: Official ClanRam Scouts (2 Round) Mock Draft
With the 29th pick, the Chicago Bears select...

Nate Solder - OT - Colorado
The Bears need to do a better job protecting Jay Cutler moving forward, and Solder is the best lineman on the board. His athleticism gives him outstanding potential at the next level, and he would fit on either side of the Bears' offensive line.Last edited by AvengerRam; -04-06-2011 at 10:10 PM.
