The Official Gibril Wilson For Next Rams SS Thread
This thread is for all people who want Gibril Wilson wearing #28 for the Rams next season.
Gibril's Career Stats:
68 games
394 solo tackles
105 assisted tackles
499 total tackles
7.5 Sacks
13 Interceptions
7 Fumbles Forced
30 Pass Deflections
1 Safety
Bottomline is this, while I would be fine with a James Butler signing, Butler won't be able to bring the type of physicality and what we need this defense to become. Whereas Gibril will be able too. He was the starting SS on the Super Bowl Giants.
BRING IN GIBRIL AND HAND HIM THAT #28!

Re: The Official Gibril Wilson For Next Rams SS Thread
AND THE OFFICIAL THREADS WITH NOT MANY POSTS
Hopefully not!
i just see this thread staying for too long cuz everyone will say only if he is cheap or we will get James Butler or Gibril Wilson whoever comes cheaper.
Or my opinion:
Bring both in. See how much there willing to play for and if there isnt too much of a marginal difference then take the better one in Gibril Wilson.
Good try tho. Cuz all Free Agent threads dont seem to last long.

Re: The Official Gibril Wilson For Next Rams SS Thread
Spags will know who the better SS is....im supporting whoever he wants..be that Wilson or Butler...it does seem pretty obvious that one will come..but ya never know,he may decide on neither one...more suprising things have happened in the NFL!

He got cut from the Raiders, so who even knows about his level of talent left. I would be curious to learn more about this guy...

If we are losing Holt and Pace, without an OT prospect to sign, that CASHMONEY needs to be spent somewhere!

Re: The Official Gibril Wilson For Next Rams SS Thread
Most of my Raider friends are upset about losing Wilson. It's similar to how we feel about Bartell/Atogwe. Keeping Asomugha and losing Wilson is viewed as one step forward, one step back.
I think Al Davis has gone completely off the reservation to save money. There are stadium issues & he also may have some mad plan to spend gazillions if there's an uncapped year in 2010.
If Huff had been healthy last year, The Raiders thought they had a pretty good secondary. No one expected DeAngelo Hall to lay such a stanky egg.
Belichick made some interesting observations in an interview at The Combine about the evolving profile of a safety. The position is now, in his opinion, becoming even more of a DB than an extra LB,ie needs cover skills.
With that in mind,I think Wilson has probably got to be considered the better player but the difference in cost is gonna be anything but marginal. Wilson's deal with The Raiders made him one of the top 3 safeties.$36/6yrs, I believe.
Since no one will know more about both guys than Spags, I like our chances of making the right call there.
