The Houston Texans have signed North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams and plan to take him with the first overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. Williams becomes the second Texans No. 1 pick in team history.

Williams (6-6, 291), will be taken by the Texans with the first overall pick in the 2006 draft. He becomes the first North Carolina State player to be taken with the first pick in the NFL draft. QB Roman Gabriel was the top overall pick of the AFL draft and went second overall in the NFL draft in 1962.

I don't think this means a whole lot in terms of causing people to fall. Someone will definitely trade up with New Orleans to get Bush.

I heard on ESPN radio last night that two sources from within the Texan's Organization were concerned with the signability of Bush and they said that the Texans were balking at him requesting QB type $$$$.

No doubt a business decision.

ESPN reports at least FIVE teams are contacting the saints for the #2 pick.

Williams was the right choice (or Brickshaw). They have a good QB in Carr and a good RB in Dominick Davis. Bush was not the answer.
