If the Seahawks are able to sign Marshall and Denver does not match, they would have to give up a first round pick. I'm not certain if the rules dictate which one they'd have to give up (their pick, #6, or the one obtained through a trade, #14).

Even if its the #14 pick, I'd question whether Seattle would be getting the better end of the deal. Seattle needs an OT, RB, QB (at least for long term), and pass rusher. Instead, they'd get a talented, but pricey, WR with conduct issues.

According to Demoff in his chat the other day, it would be the #6 pick:

"To give an offer sheet to an RFA, you must offer the exact compensation specified by their tender level. Furthermore, you have to be able to give your original pick in that round, you can't offer up a pick you acquired somehow. So we can't offer Philadelphia's 5th round pick in an offer sheet for a player tendered as a 5th, we have to offer the Rams' 5th round pick."

While it would be scary to see a player of that potential go to a division rival, it could be the lesser of two evils in this instance for all the reasons offered in the above posts & could be a Trojan horse for the Carroll regime.

I'm a lot more nervous about The Hags getting a new OT AND a QB from the first round which, as you point out, is quite possible.

Yeah, with Fitz & Boldin and the possibility of Housh & Marshall; scary times for the Rams secondary. I also read that the Seachickens were talking with Benjamin Watson, so there's that to consider.
