    The Okoye Draft 4/16/2007

    Rams Draft

-Trade: St. Louis trades 1[13], 2[52] and 5[2008] to Washington for 1[6].

    1[6] DT Amobi Okoye [Louisville]

The player that the Rams really want in this draft. Okoye provides great size [6’2” 306lbs.] and energy to a DL that is missing both. Okoye may only be 19 but he is NFL ready and has more potential than any other player in the draft.

    3[84] DE Brian Robison [Texas]

A high effort pass rusher Robison should come in and provide an immediate upgrade to the Ram pass rush.

    4. LB Antwan Barnes [Florida International]

A former DE with good size [6’ 240lbs.] and speed [4.4/40] he can come in and develop at the SLB position.

    5. OT/OG Mike Jones [Iowa]

Jones has size [6’5” 300lbs.] and the ability to play multiple positions.

    6. RB Garrett Wolfe [Northern Illinois]

Wolfe is undersized, but he can fill the role of skat back and kick returner.

    7. Forfeited to the Miami Dolphins

    7. S Willis Baringer [Michigan]

Barringer will come in as a back up S and play on special teams.

    7. WR D’Jaun Woods [Oklahoma St.]

    A bigger possession WR.

No way too much, i would rather say at 13 and take Branch. And a DE in the second.

If all we would trade is a 3rd for Jenkins, trading that much for a rookie is way over the top.

Hava Nagilah tx!!!! As usual, the minister of defense is right on target. I love okoye, but he isnt going to help much this year. At the risk of repeating myself (again), i defy you to name me one 19 year old lineman in the history of the nfl that has had an impact in his rookie year. Jenkins is worth a lot to us, if we give up a 2 and a 4 (which i would rather give up than the #1) and use the 13 on anderson, branch, reevis, carriker or hall, that gives us jenkins and lets say anderson rather than just okoye. No contest there folks.

By the way, i think its an astute comment to think that okoye goes off the board at #6, i just dont think its going to be to us.

Or ANY 19 year old in the NFL, period.

What about Kandi? You know, the 19 year old Education Major from the University of Missouri who likes dancing, walks on the beach....

    Oh, you mean players......not cheerleaders

WAY too much for Okoye...I like him more than Branch (a lot more) but id rather take Branch at #13 than give up all those picks

If we are trading that much to move up to the #6 pick, i would want to draft Laron Landry or Gaines Adams. Studs. Amobi Okoye is a great football player with tons of potential, but at the same time is a risk. He is only 19 years old, Its a make or break. But if you trade up that high you need to get a superstar like Landry or Adams.

what would we have to give up to pick up Gaines Adams? Him or Landry would be the only players I would be comfortable trading up for.

Gaines Adams might be gone by the 6th pick but Landry would probably be there. I'm still with TX and General Counsel on this one... Trade a 2nd (+4th, player, etc.) and draft some defensive help like Jamaal Anderson or Branch if he's still available. Absolutely no offense in the 1st round!
