Not where we're picking right now. The value just isn't there. The best interior O-line prospect seems to be Blalock, whom I see going in the latter half of the first rather than the top half.
I think that Ben Grubbs is a very possible first round selection for us, his stock will improve before the draft begins and will surely go in the first round. So many things to happen from now until draft though.
I am not thinking about what the draft looks like now though, I am thinking when the big day comes in April. The Rams could be a top 5 pick or a 15-20 pick. If one were to say last year at this time that Tye Hill would be the best value for the Rams it would have been considered a horrible pick. I am very high on Grubbs, he could be a very big help to Jackson and the run offense.
Edit: I see what you are saying about guards not going in top 10 but if there was ever a case for a guard to go early this should be one. We are not and have not looked good creating holes to run through and getting a quality player at the guard position is to me a top priority for this team.
I think when the year is done that we will be picking in the middle teens 13-18
If that is the case would anyone have a problem with picking Blalock or Levi brown.
I voted "no," but I think O line is a top FA priority.
Look at the line - Pace is a veteran, but if Timmerman and McCollum are on their way out, the rest of the line is very young (Barron, Incognito, Setterstom, Romberg). They need a veteran presence there (my first choice would be Eric Steinbach).
no, OL from FA maybe, but not the draft
we have positions like MLB, DE and S that need draft attention right now
I voted defense,defense,defense......case closed.
no question it's defense, defense, defense, as well as size, size, size. i think the interior line needs to be adressed in free agency, or if all else fails in the middle of the draft. i also think we should be looking for some kind of wide receiver if curtis leaves because bruce isnt getting any younger. maybe we'll hit it big with a 7th-rounder and pick the next marques colston? ahh i guy can dream right?
