one more first round mock draft
Had to squeeze this in before Thursday. Some of the picks may be head scratchers, but hey, what's the fun in just re-writing an existing one??
01) Rams -- Sam Bradford
02) Lions -- Ndomukung Suh
03) Bucs -- Gerald McCoy
04) Redskins -- Trent Williams (looks to be a better zone blocker)
05) Chiefs -- Russell Okung
06) Seahawks -- C.J. Spiller (they might feel they have a better chance of landing an OT with their second pick, than with Spiller falling to said pick)
07) Browns -- Eric Berry
08) Raiders -- Bruce Campbell (workout warrior, Raider written all over him)
09) Bills -- Brian Bulaga
10) Jaguars -- Derrick Morgan
11) Broncos -- Dez Bryant (with Marshall gone, they need someone to step up)
12) Dolphins -- Dan Williams
13) ***** -- Joe Haden
14) Seahawks -- Anthony Davis
15) Giants -- Rolando McClain
16) Titans -- Jason Pierre Paul
17) ***** -- Jimmy Clausen
18) Steelers -- Maurkice Pouncey
19) Falcons -- Brandon Graham
20) Texans -- Kyle Wilson (physical corner that they need right now)
21) Bengals -- Earl Thomas
22) Patriots -- Jermaine Greshem
23) Packers -- Sergio Kindle
24) Eagles -- Kareem Jackson (physical corner who can tackle)
25) Ravens -- Jared Odrick
26) Cardinals -- Sean Weatherspoon (next best non-pass rush LB available)
27) Cowboys -- Mike Iupati (big, tough lineman that Jones likes)
28) Chargers -- Ryan Mathews
29) Jets -- Jerry Hughes (Jets are looking to draft in the front 7 on Defense)
30) Vikings -- Devin McCourty
31) Colts -- Charles Brown (has been rising up draft boards as of late, and could make a push)
32) Saints -- Daryl Washington (need to replace departures at position)
Re: one more first round mock draft
Well if your mock comes true!
Rams take DT Brian Price in the 2nd round. :D
I don't think he will be there.
Re: one more first round mock draft
Nice mock, Beers. A couple of things:
-Good job with the Seahawks at #6. That's the right pick IMO.
-IMO, Okung/Bulaga/Williams/Campbell/Pouncey/Iupati/Brown. I don't see Brown being selected that high by anybody other than the *****, who really need the OL help, so I can't really argue other than to say I think Iupati and Pouncey should be selected much higher come draft day.
-Sergio Kindle is NOT a coverage LB. He's a pass rush specialist.
-GREAT Cardinals pick. Well done.
-Ditto for the Chargers.
-I don't think the Jets take a backup pass rushing LB in the first round. At this point, I think they'll give Gholston one more go and look at a five technique like Alualu.
-Davis to the Colts is a nice fit if he falls that far. For the record, I don't think he will.
-32 is a little high for Washington IMO, but it's still conceivable. I'd have gone with Dunlap there.
-WHO DO THE RAMS PICK AT #33??

Oh my. Price's value has plummeted of late. He's considered a possible third round pick by many including myself. I think I projected him higher in my last mock draft, but I've watched some film and flip-flopped.

Thanks for the feedback! I can't believe I wrote in Kindle as a coverage LB. I guess I was thinking of something/someone else...I'm not sure what :o
As far as Charles Brown, I admit I have him a bit high. I could probably theoretically switch he and Anthony Davis around. Perhaps I may do such a thing. :)
As far as Hughes to the Jets...their team is just so solid. They addressed some needs even with their top-8(?) handicap. It's tough to project a team with no glaring needs.
I'll probably make a few last minute changes coming up soon!

Cool, I'll look forward to it :)
Enjoy the +Rep!
Re: one more first round mock draft
Nice work! I could see a team like the Bengals moving up to make a play for Berry. Eagles possibly too, but I'd bet they'd be stoked to have Jackson at 24 while still holding multiple seconds thirds, and fourths
Re: one more first round mock draft
Updates made. I just switched around the last two OTs selected, (Davis and Brown). I admit that I want to put Pouncey higher than 30, but I just can't seem to place him anywhere.
The team that I had in mind is Pittsburgh, who could probably stand to upgrade at corner, wide receiver and offensive line with this pick. I have to think they go for the line and receiver in rounds two and three.
I'm not sold on Kindle going to Green Bay either. He looks like a good fit, but will Green Bay really use another first round pick on a LB? We'll find out soon enough I guess!

If Pouncey goes to the Steelers you could project Wilson to the Packers.
Kindle is also a possibility at 21 to Cincinnati or even better, to New England at 22.
Looks pretty good to me!
Re: one more first round mock draft
alright, final final edits are up. hoping for the best, anticipating trades that will wreck everything.
