One pick... Who would you choose?
The Off-Season is full of if's. So I have one if question for you guys to think about today. IF there were only one round in the draft, and we had pick number 2, who do you pick? LB Aaron Curry or OT Eugene Monroe? 1 round, 1 player. Who's your choice?

Re: One pick... Who would you choose?
Monroe.
We know Witherspoon and Draft can both play MLB; Witherspoon did it fairly well for a few years now, and Draft has done it in the past. It'd be great to find someone to play there and allow both of those guys to remain outside, but we know we have guys who can man that spot if we don't go that route.
Can we say the same thing about LT? Without Pace, we're now counting on Barron to start at LT. He did it for a season and was solid, but we have no idea how well he's going to respond to it now. Furthermore, moving Barron to left tackle creates a big hole at RT, one that we can only fill by (1) moving a guard like Bell or Greco there, or (2) counting on a career reserve like Goldberg to start.
I'm a firm believer that you build from the trenches out, so with only one pick available, I'm taking the lineman.

Name one fruit with..
the seeds on the outside?
You brought it up Ramblin` Ram. <giggle>
I would take Curry. Rams D is pathetic and I believe the Rams are going to a power running game. Also with the west coast offense the ball should be out of Bulgers hands before anyone can get to him. Power running and quick release a LTakle is not as vital as it is in a Coreyelle(SP) system where the QB holds on to the ball for a 7 step drop and waits for a pattern to develope.
Strawberry.
Seems as relevant as anything else in this thread.

Re: One pick... Who would you choose?
This one's easy for me. Curry is the safest player in the draft. While he might not be an explosive playmaker, he is a sure tackler, has the attributes of a good leader and the abilities to play all 3 downs, pass or run. He is excellent at shedding blocks (playing at SLB for WF) and has enough size to make the switch to MLB. He will make us all forget about London Fletcher (moment of silence).
The OTs don't impress me and are too risky for the #2 pick. I, for one, think Alex Barron will do just fine at LT and it won't be difficult to find a RT prospect in the later rounds.

Re: One pick... Who would you choose?
Today I am all for Monroe, but my opinion changes each day.
I would love Curry also though, but I am a little uncertain about the change to MLB.
But tomorrow I will probably have changes my mind again

Re: One pick... Who would you choose?
I picked curry but as we have more picks I'm for taking Eugene Monroe at 2 and I'm hoping James Laurinaitis drops to us in the 2nd round best of both worlds
