Re: The one player you would definitely want for this team
Kenny Phillips, the same feelings I had about Eric Wright last year I have about Phillips this year. Just a gut feeling but I love the way this kid plays.

Re: The one player you would definitely want for this team
Where was the announcement that Pittman had beaten out Leonard for the back-up RB job in 2008? I don't think I saw that article.
I think Leonard was taken out of the rotation at tailback for three reasons - (1) our giant question mark at fullback after we cut Hedgecock, (2) his own injury situation, and (3) the availability of another back-up option.
However, I don't think for one second that Pittman has that job nailed down, and I think if the Rams found a capable full-time fullback and weren't forced to rotate guys like Leonard, Klopfenstein, and Owens, then we'd see Leonard back in the role he was drafted for.

Re: The one player you would definitely want for this team
What about a guy like Phillip Merling(DE) out of Clemson in the second round? He could easily slip into our pockets.
How about James Hardy(WR) from Indiana?
Lawrence Jackson(DE) from USC?
They're all projected in some places to be early second round picks.
I think Merling gets picked up before our second pick, but each player is definitey within reach.
Thoughts?

Marcus Monk.....a 6-5 WR out of Arkansas who I think hasn't been utilized properly there.

Re: The one player you would definitely want for this team
You are absolutely correct, tx. Marcus Monk never had the luxury of playing with a SEC quality QB the entire time he was at the U of A. Houston Nutt ran a RB-based offense (one of the reasons he's gone now) and this did not require a modern type of pass offense. Monk might actually be a better NFL receiver than he was in college due in no small part the better coaching that he will receive.

Re: The one player you would definitely want for this team
See, it's different with Monk. He will actually go out and MAKE plays. Bennett doesn't want to MAKE plays.
Ok, so in this light.....let's not go out and get better at WR because we already have one that sucks. Great logic.

Nick, I will admit when I watched a few Rams games this year I cried.I'll man up and admit it, his post-game interview after the Fiesta Bowl made me cry...
