Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
Lately ive seen these three names in just about every mock draft for the Rams. So let me give you guys a possible scenario:
Rams win a home playoff game but lose in the next round giving them the 23rd pick in the 2011 nfl draft.
Who would you take?
These are the players off the board (in no particular order)
AJ Green
Robert Quinn
Julio Jones
D'quan Bowers
Andrew Luck
Patrick Peterson
Marcell Dareus
Prince Amukamra
Ryan Mallat
Nick Fairley
Adrian Clayborn
Mark Ingram
Stephan Paea
Allen Bailey
Anthony Castonzo
Derrek Sherrod
Ryan Kerrigan
Von Miller
Jaronis Jenkins
Drake Nevis
Akeem Ayers
Gabe Carimi
Do we still go out and get a WR? Jonathan Barwin? Malcolm Floyd? Bradford's former teammate ryan Broyles?
Do we draft a DB for value like Brandon Burton or aaron Williams?
Or do we get Bradford a pass catching TE like Kyle Rudolph?
Or someone else in mind?

Re: Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
I think at that point you just go BPA. It will also depend on who the Rams pick up in FA. I'm guessing they'll upgrade the secondary or the WR core or both before the draft..But if I had to pick one I'd probably go Baldwin...i'll probably change my mind another 5 times before we actually draft though.

Re: Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
Depending on their workouts, I'd say Baldwin, Floyd and Leonard Hankerson would be in the mix.
So would Bruce Carter.

Having 2 6'5 220 Guys in Baldwin and DX on the outside, Amendola on the inside, Bradford throwing in year 2, a good pass blocking o-line, a healthy 0h-oh and Fendi. Can you say top 10 offense?

Re: Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
travis lewis, bruce carter, mike pouncey or baldwin would interest me around that area. there should also still be some interesting pass rushers available so we could go that route, i wouldn't expect a corner this high.

Re: Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
I'm going with Mike Pouncey at RG. Give Goldberg and Greco commemorative T-shirts and some nice parting gifts, I'm tired of watching substandard interior line play
Also, Stefan Wisnieski (C or OG) or Bruce Carter could also make sense at that spot.
WHAT SAY YE?

Re: Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
I would say BPA but after watching the the last couple of games I would say we need a big RG to fully give our offensive line that last piece we need. If Mike Pouncey is as good as his brother then wow.

BarronWade,
I noticed that you did not put Justin Blackman on your list of prospects. If he declares he would also be a strong consideration for the Rams where they are expected to pick.
He has truly been dominate this year and might just be as ready for the pros as anyone else.

Blackmon is a tough prospect to grade out because he is a redshirt sophomore without the production Michael Crabtree had. Blackmon is having a great season and of corse if he declares the Rams will give him a thorough look.
If he does declare i would consider him over Baldwin as the 3rd best receiver. But at this point i will still have to wait it out on him.

Re: Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
Blackman, according to the reports I've read, is currently leaning towards coming back. If, however, it appears that a rookie cap has a chance of being put into place, I think we may see a lot of underclassman declaring.
I he were in this draft, he'd likely be the 2nd or 3rd WR off the board, after Green.

Regardless, what a great year for receivers. I'm glad we waited. And here's a thought: perhaps our FO noticed this as well!... ;)

Re: Options beyond Green, jones, and quinn
There are a couple of names I think you'd have to have on your list at that point - LB Bruce Carter, WR Michael Floyd, CBs Jimmy Smith and Brandon Harris, OL DeMarcus Love. Out of those, I would probably go with Carter, but the Rams will have a number of good options.

RB: Ryan Williams
WR: Michael Floyd, Jonathan Baldwin
OG: Mike Pouncey
LB: Travis Lewis, Bruce Carter

I think that, whoever we take, the front office will be just be glad they don't have to pay them top-2 money this year.

I'm with you on Carter. He's the kind of player that seems to be near the ball on every play. He also runs like a greyhound and hits like a truck. Reminds me a bit of Derrick Brooks.
