Good post, thanks. I agree about hearing nice things about us. Listening to them, the future looks bright. Pat Kirwan needs to work on his math, we're $1.7 million under the cap, not over.

mde, from everything I have heard, you're correct that we're under the probable cap, but there are many different ways to calculate it. Given what I've heard on Kirwan's show on NFL radio, I'm apt to believe him though. He has all of the players' contracts available to him, and so he knows what our actual cap charge would be right now. The question comes whether he is using just the top 50 players(currently how it is calculated) or the top 53. Also, I assume that he is counting Jackson's option. His cap number could also be less than what other people around the internet are using.

At this point, guessing our cap liabilities is pretty worthless, it will change so much between now and free agency alone, not to mention September.

I don't really follow college ball that much but before Lewan and Mathews said they were going back to school I had never even heard this guy's name. Now he's mocking into the top 10? It's like Blaine Gabbert... people are pushing these guys up the board for some reason. He could actually be a monster for all I know but I would think his name would have popped up before now if he was that great.

It has been, but that's the disadvantage of playing at a small school. Nobody really watches your games closely until seasons end, when the major focus turns to the draft. He turned in a dominant performance against some of the best big school seniors to really start generating attention.

I had a mock before the Senior Bowl with Fisher going to San Diego with the 11th pick, so it's not all Senior Bowl hype. Fisher is very clearly the second best tackle in this class, and had Lewan and Matthews come out, he would have been my third ranked tackle (behind Joeckel and Matthews) and still a first rounder.

Fisher was mocked in the top 20 before Lewan and Matthews returned. In fact most people had him ranked higher than Matthews.

So he has been up there you just didn't know about it.
