Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
Guys like Amendola are what this team needs, hard-working heart and soul guys who also get good results on the field. There were a number of people thinking he'd be cut last off-season and now a lot who wouldn't seem to mind if he was gone...guess he can't catch a break on this board.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
I thought Julian Edelman was Welker's successor. No way I want to get rid of Danny, he's the reason why we were able to move the chains and get to the redzone during the 2010 season.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
Amendola is a playmaker, a multi-purpose threat, and he makes Bradford better. He's a proven commodity on a team without a lot of proven commodities. The Rams need Danny Amendola IMO. Plus, he does things like this:
Simply amazing. Then he has the presence of mind to lunge for more yardage. He's a keeper.Last edited by r8rh8rmike; -03-13-2012 at 06:47 PM.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
Eh cut him, trade him, who cares, why would a team full of cruddy receivers who can't get open or catch passes need one that can actually do those things? Let's stick with the same group as last year because they did so well.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
I'd trade him for a 2 but no way for a 4.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
Salas is bigger, faster and has more upside than Amendola.
So to say that I would have no reservations about sending him (Amendola) packing for a 2nd round pick, is the understatement of the year.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
Well, I'm obviously in the minority, so I'll say this and then move on:
Danny Amendola WILL be a productive starter in the NFL this season. I just hope he does so as a Ram."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
Seeing that Brandon Marshall was just had for two thirds, I don't think we need to worry about getting a 2nd for Amendola.
Not gonna happen.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
Ok lets look at this objectively.
There is no question letting Amendola go for that 2nd round pick is completely worth it. However, we saw Sam have no targets last year and Amendola was missed very much. If we can get some receivers then thats fine. But, if we don't pick up anyone nor draft Blackmon then we gotta hang on to him. Great guy, hard work ethic but hey not my kind of receiver, even at the slot

I would drive Amendola to New England for a 2nd rounder.

Re: Patriots: Amendola would make sense as Welker 2.0
As of right now it doesn't look like there will be much overhaul except for subtracting the only productive receiver last year, Lloyd, and people seem fine with subtracting the only productive receiver from two years ago, Amendola, as well. Makes no sense.
Even if we can get Blackmon, I don't see how this team is better without Amendola.
